I've found a approx. 1.5 by 3/4 inch thing in 3 different 5.5 oz can of Wellness Turkey and chicken flavors in the last two days.  It's black on one side and grey on the other, it's soft enough to be able to break.  I don't know if this is something that is supposed to be broken down in the food that went in whole but it's been in June, July and December cans that just came on the shelves here in Massachusetts.  I'm contacting them and I'm sure they'll want a picture but I'm wondering if anyone else has spotted this. I'm not feeding him Wellness until I know what this is.  If you don't look and go through the food you may not see it even though it's large.  I'm kind of shocked that this is in three different batches of 3 different months.  No quality control?

Eww, sounds gross. We are not using Wellness at the moment so I can't compare..but is fish listed somewhere on the can even though it is a predominently different flavor? Could it be a big piece of fishskin that never got ground up correctly? some have gray and kind of black..? At any rate I wouldn't feed it either until I found out what it was. Good luck with this.

I have seen this, too and pulled a piece out to investigate it.  I *think* it's a bit of zucchini skin.

We feed Wellness Turkey a lot to the cats and I've been seeing these floppy hunks of blackish something more and more.  Take a close look next time and see if you think that it might be a very dark green.  I did with the piece I looked at, but I'd be interested to hear what you think on it, too.

I'll take a closer look at the piece I saved.  I'ts been in almost every can I gave him then I switched back to the small cans which are made in the U.S. and I haven't seen it in those.  Maybe this is only in the 5.5 oz coming in from Canada.

My girl will only eat the 5.5oz ones.  Undecided

Let me know what you think!
