Came across this food over the weekend via their website. They offer a BOGO trial offer and have downloadable forms to sign up for a breeder program. I dl'd the forms, filled them out, faxed them in (per their instructions) and yesterday received a puzzling phone call from them. The rep said they have no idea where I got these forms but they are very, VERY old. I said I dl'd them from your website this weekend. She said "Oh." Also said she'd e-mail me the correct forms w/correct pricing since that has changed. Surprising to me since I compared their pricing w/another online retailer who sells the food and they were very close. Haven't heard anything more, no e-mails, nothing. Not too impressed that their website offer is THAT outdated, nor that they made no offer to honor what IS on the website that I signed up for in good faith. Now these people have my credit card info and I'm wondering what the heck to think.

How bizarre! They don't even know what is on their website? Or maybe no one bothers to sign up for the breeder's program? Call them back and demand they hold to their website offer - the customer is always right. (if only that was true regarding pet food!)
It looks like a fairly good food, but I've never heard of it before. Looks like it's just available through mailorder. It is listed in WDJ under Healthy Pet Foods, Inc. They also make Lick Your Chops, which is in some stores here. Chenango Valley makes their dry food.

Since I haven't heard from them with the correct forms and pricing like they said they would send, I guess I'm wondering if they are lax in other areas as well. Maybe the food they would ship me isn't as fresh as it would be from another retailer or maybe the lax behavior goes on down the line to quality control in the manufacturing process... I don't know. In the absence of anything but that one weird phone call, I'm sort of scratching my head. Had the rep taken the approach of "Oops, I need to apologize for our outdated web forms but of course we're going to honor your initial purchase request and ship your food right away", that would have left me with quite a different impression. She actually implied that I must have been holding on to these forms for many years and only faxed them in now - tuh! I'd never even heard of the food before, never mind laying in wait for years until a price increase occurred!

Name doesn't ring any bells. I'll have to check the WDJ for them.

Sandi K - hahaha - yeah some of you have poison food stashes, I have outdated order forms, indexed alphabetically and cross referenced using the Dewey Decimal System! She's just lucky I only used their form from *this century* cos don't think I don't have older ones... JustMe - that's how I looked up their website, they are on the 2008 WDJ kibble list and I hadn't heard of them before so I wanted to check them out. The food seems like it could be a good partner with my homemade food.

I am not a subscriber to WDJ (just saw their kibble list that the link was posted here to recently) so do tell if you are looking at anything interesting about the food! Lord knows we can't rely on the website for current info.

I have just heard back from the company with their updated forms and corrected prices. What it amounts to is for two bags of food on the BOGO trial offer, they want me to pay $8.50 more (total, including shipping) than what was advertised on their website. I responded (inspired by petslave!) that while I wouldn't have a problem paying the increased fees on future orders, I expect their company to honor the website prices listed, even if they are outdated and even if they were only made aware of it yesterday by me. I signed up in good faith and the responsibility for keeping updated offers/pricing on their website clearly falls at their feet, not mine. We'll see if I get a response.

Good for you! Hope they honor it. Wonder if they are reading this thread.
I used to work in retail & if we didn't have prices or sale info right, we had to give them what is advertised. Then we would get chewed out for not taking the sign down or retagging stuff. It's like a golden rule of retail stores. Not sure if it works for online companies!

Yeah, but we are dealing with PFC's here and they operate by a different set of rules...their own.

Well no response from ShowBound Naturals regarding my request that they honor the offer on their website. btw I just checked and those same forms are STILL up on their website. One of the pages says: "Keep this sheet for your records – as a reminder of our commitment to you and the Show Bound Naturals Breeder Bonus Program." I kept your sheet but it's not a reminder of your commitment to anything - not even your own words on your own website! Guess I won't be trying their food after all...

Well since it's so out of date in the first place, it will probably take another 2 years to change it now that they have a complaint about it!
