Please list items and dates.

01/03/2008:  Only 3 cases of canned feline NV Instinct in store.

Also, only 3 small bags of CORE (canine) kibble.

Eventually they will understand,
Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am....forever and ever and ever.

01/05/08  One store completely out of Instinct and very short on Evanger's canned cat foods.  Two other stores out of Instinct rabbit only.

I just switched Harry and Lucy to Wellness Core (which I did not want to do---hopefully just temporary)as I have been unable to get the NV INstinct kibble the last two trips (December) to my ma and pa type pet food shop!  They said it was a problem with their distributor.    The same thing happened a year ago with Natural Life Lamaderm but that eventually showed up only at ChinaMart so I won't buy that now----I hope and pray this is not happening with NV---I can't imagine that would happen.....but I have oticed others with NV being hard to get Huh

In the past month, all my usual pet food stores have had periods of time when they had very few to no cases of 12.5 oz. Turkey & Chicken Wellness for cats.  Sometimes no single cans on the shelf either.  Makes for a lot of driving around, but luckily there always seems to be one place that does have it at any one time.

Canidae lamb & rice canned - also haven't been able to find in past month in many places, some stores have notes on the shelves saying no cases for sale or limiting # you can buy.  I was told they were busy starting up the new plant (I guess the new Evangers plant), so they were having trouble keeping their foods stocked.  I've only seen the lamb & rice missing though, so seems like something else is going on.  Dry formula doesn't seem to be missing.

Wellness cat Core & other Wellness drys are missing in some stores.  I've seen gaps on the shelves for other brands too but don't buy dry so not as aware of them.  I shop at 2 high end pet shops, 3 feed stores & one bigger pet store (sim. to petsmart but local, not a chain).

At the feed store yesterday they were completely out of NV canned in all but duck & beef flavors.  Several of the dry formulas were also out.

Strangely enough, eukanuba & iams shelves were very sparse, only a few bags of certain flavors, lots of empty spots on the shelves.  Wonder what's going on with them?  Running out of by-products?

petslave:

Maybe this particular store is not going to carry Iams & Eukanuba anymore.  At least we can hope.  I'd like to think that not enough is selling for them to be sold out......

Could it be that companies have stopped buying the loaded stuff from China & can't find other cheap fillers........or by-products as you said........tee hee....... Cheesy

That would be great if they were phasing the big Iams/Euk duo out!  I doubt it though, it's a big feed store & they offer something for everyone there.  They do have a good selection of higher quality foods though, which is nice.

Don't get too excited Iams is changing their formulas and that is most likely the reason it is in short supply.  Who is making Iams now anyway since they dropped Menu?

I wish I could find a good store to buy these brands that I read about here.  I can get Newmans and limited Wellness but both still made my Menu right?

The only pet store in my area is Petco and they don't have much I would purchase.  They only offer Friskies, Fancy Feast, Blue Buffalo, Maxcat Nuro? and that's about it.

You could check out the web sites for the companies that you're interested in, Judy.  You might be able to order by mail.  I was surprised that one brand would have been a good deal even with shipping.  I haven't done it since I've got a couple of small pet shops that will special order if they are on the distribution route here.

The drawback about mail order is that you have to get a case and maybe you are not sure if the food will work out.  But its possible you could get a company to sell or send you samples.

this can be a good option but I know of one company that the prices on their site are 30-50% higher than elsewhere online or in stores
