Was buying Pet Promise but took what I had back as it contains rice and do not know if that rice in it has been genetically modified (franken food) so did not want to take a chance that down the road some day she became ill and would not even think it could be the rice. Also I thought that someone had posted it had synthetic vitaman k in it? That might not be correct on this food so do your own checking. On saynotogmos.org they have a list of genetically modified foods/etc.
JJ is on a mission. Say No to GMO's obviously has an agenda for Organics (not that I'm opposed - but there is no scientific proof to the claims). I believe in taking some time off here (which I do - one can't keep up the stress forever - its unhealthy after 3 months).
Pet Promise does use menadione (so I won't buy it). But I eat rice, and unless going grain free (which is not good for indoor kitties - due to phosphorous, fiber levels) one is stuck with that frightening RICE.
I eat rice, and I will continue to eat rice (AND DANG - I'M NOT CALLING EVERY COMPANY, RESTAURANT I EAT AT TO MAKE SURE ITS NOT GMO). If I can eat it, the kitties can eat it (and since I've got a 14 year old kitty fed GWAINY CWAP for many years - and she's still thriving - I FEEL PRETTY DANG GOOD ABOUT MY CHOICES).
