It did sound like from the website info that all the rabbit is from China.  Thanks for doublechecking that JanC.  Good to know that at least a little of the PFI website info is actually correct!

I'm confused. Why was this question posed under the "Your Problems with Pet Food" forum if it was just an inquiry whether anyone was feeding it or not?

Because no one wants to use food made in China or with  Chinese ingredients.

catzpj, if you were asking why the original question was posed here, I think JustMe was trying to find out both good and bad experiences and any other info so she could make a decision on whether to use it.

Not really a problem with pet food, but a question of whether anyone had had any problems.

Does anyone know if the rabbit kibble is normally a dark color?  This is our first bag, so I'm not familiar with it.

Tried it again for the adults tonight.  All but the oldest tried to eat it, but he doesn't have many teeth left, so gave him some wet.

2 adult cats vomited this tonight. Neither of these is my cat that vomits once or twice a week.

JustMe....did you see my post on the first page...My IBD/pancreatititis cat Cougar had his first real pancreatitis attack eating the Rabbit kibble.  If your cats are all sick I would have them checked out.  Hopefully it is nothing serious.

Did you by any chance keep a record of the best by date?

Thanks for pointing this out.  Twit had blood work and urinalysis done, and everything was normal except for a high normal blood sugar.  One of my other cats doesn't have much appetite today, usually a big eater.  I will keep watching them.  Thanks for letting me know.

No....I'm sorry...I should have watched the date code but I did not.  Cougar also had high-normal glucose, but his blood was also grossly lipemic.  We didn't think he was diabetic as their was no glucose in his urine, but reran glucose with fructosamine to verify and it was normal.  We fasted him for over 16 hours and his sample was still somewhat lipemic (too many fat lipids).  Further testing showed his triglycerides were over 1700, cholesterol only slightly elevated. We put him on ursodiol and he has been fine since.

We also redid his fPLI (a test for pancreatitis run through Texas A&M) and it was actually normal (and lower than it was when he was healthy).  They did not mention that the sample was too lipemic so I'm assuming it was OK.  But his ultrasound showed problems with the pancreas.  Pancreatitis is a very difficult disease to diagnose in cats with the typical chronic form, but he saw three different vets and they all were in agreement that the eleveated triglycerides were being caused by pancreatitis.  And, with some of the issues that Instinct had with fat in some of their other dry foods, it made me nervous.

Jenny,

Regarding what you said about how hard it is to diagnose, here are some links about feline pancreatitis:
