I am having such a major snark attack that I can't type.  Exceptions were made during the recall.  In my beady little brain, the recalls never stopped.  The food is still crap.  The FDA just stopped telling us about it. We do our own recalls now.

(Suffering from exploding head syndrome.)

Sorry folks, how do I not be rude?

What is the rationale for not allowing links, especially back to Itchmo?

Itchmoers continue to lead the charge in an ongoing effort to make food safe for all pet owners - not just Itchmo members.  As "silent recalls" continue, the technical information presented here is outstanding, and opinions are thoughtful and well written.

JMHO, but a site that won't allow links to other sites, does its members a great disservice.

Jcat, you've stated the policy.  Can you please explain the reason for the policy?  It seems illogical to me.

Just wondering, but what is the mission of The Cat Site?

My opinion, but the major difference is I would venture to "guess", the other site wants to keep all the members at their site.  More members, more money?Huh   Whereas these forums are open and we share to protect our cats and dogs.

I really appreciate your consideration of my post, and the replies.  There's really no reason for various sites to be at odds, as ultimately, we're all advocating pet welfare.

Then, your site should allow links since there might be some information gleaned from the linked sites.  If it saves the life of even 1 cat or 1 dog, why block it?

It seems like we do a lot of sharing here.

My really old & stubborn opinion is that if they don't want links, that's their choice, as well as their prerogative - after all, it is their site.

Their members know the rules and how they are enforced.  If they want to know what is here, and apparently some of them do, then they can come here and go back share with member sthere of like minds in methods other than board postings.

When they're here they're expected to follow this forum's rules, aren't they? Maybe this one isn't as moderated as that one, but it is what it is. This one being so large is almost impossible to pull & review posts.

You all know how it is there, you accept it and follow the rules, or, you don't accept it and leave it alone.

So, I guess I just don't get why Itchmo folks are so fixated on the cat site. If it's disagreeable or you don't agree, why bother?

People of like minds tend to stick to a forum with others of like minds.

Sharing is one thing, but setting out to conform others or "save" them from their own opinions or what you deem to be incorrect information is going to come to no good end - whether inside this forum or on another.

My recommendation? Extend them an invitation to participate here, shake hands and play nice.

Kinda difficult to extend an invitation when you are not allowed to post a link to a "competing" forum.    Tongue

Sure, they are welcome to participate here.  We'll have to leave it to those who come here to spread the word.  I haven't visited over there in awhile.

I just noticed that Offy's name is in black and says "Guest".  Has this thread caused her to leave us?  I hope not.

My problems upset Justme.  Offy's been here a long time, not me.  Please Offy, don't do this.

I would quicker think that it is all of the 'pet losses' that have just happened in the Itchmo Family that have everyone grieving and that grief comes out as anger.
