Aha, that explains it.  The stores themselves don't ever have anything on sale here.  When I first saw that ad, I worried they were selling the recalled lots trying to get rid of it, but this is a county wide sale at all their feed store outlets, so it must just be moving slower than normal now with all the uproar.

Did we ever find out exactly which flavors of NV dry were produced at the Chenango plant where all the production problems are occuring?  (other than chicken instinct for dogs, and, apparently, this new oatmeal/lamb for cats)

Natures Variety doesn't use Chenango anymore. They only use Pied. After the problems they dropped Chenango. If I remember correctly Sandi posted something to that effect a while ago.

Unfortunately the stores in your area don't use the opportunity to have sales and specials. The stores here get notices just about every month about specials. Maybe you should ask them about it. Or better yet find out who your rep is and give them a call. Maybe the rep doesn't know the stores aren't offering the specials that are available.

I live in NE Ohio, just came back from town that has pet store (I do not have pet store in my town) went in  and yes NV are having special on their instinct bags here to get free trial of raw. Other times in the past there have been other offers.

Natures Variety doesn't use Chenango anymore. They only use Pied. After the problems they dropped Chenango. If I remember correctly Sandi posted something to that effect a while ago.

On March 11 Sandy posted this: It would be imprudent of me, however, to discuss all the business and contractual reasons that led to our establishing a manufacturing relationship with CV

On March 13 Sandy posted this: We are planning to make some product at the second facility under intense scrutiny.  We will not ship this product until we are confident that it will not cause any issues. We do not own the facility.  It is located in New York.

I can not find any post from Sandy here to substantiate your claim that they have severed their relationship completely with Chenango.

Well, that was a while ago and I know that they don't use Chenango anymore. You can call any of their reps and they can let you know. They all know. They only use Pied now.

Pet Food List has been updated and Chenango has been removed as being a manufacturer for N.V.
