The date code is on the cans themselves, on the bottom. For the dog food, cant speak for the cat food cans.

Not for the can of food itself, for the printing of the label.

For instance, peeling off a label from Innova Canned, underneath the glue, at the edge, is a code:

UM02-15CM02

The code is the same on the next can.

Now - if the codes keep changing on the labels, and the printing (i.e. ingredients) is not - then something is very amiss.

Well just removed the lable from a small can 5.6 oz of Evangers chicken and no number on the label but a bigger number on the side of the can that the label was covering. Going to call Evangers to see whats up with that.

Darn, just used up last can of Felidae tonight (had to go buy some tomorrow).  Was going to compare notes and help out.  Good luck.

Lani and petguard users -

I was feeding this consistently and as of the recalls stopped due to their evasiveness and lack of caring for customers loyal to them.

Petguard is made by Menu - one friend of mine still uses and is doing fine - I have about 20 cans I have not used.

Feeding Organix dry and a little bit of real turkey or organic chicken twice a day-
Was going to go back to canned but afraid to try another can or dry still.

Maddy-
I completely agree with you on PetGuard, they would not answer any of my questions so I switched those of my cats who were eating it to other foods.  I only used it for a few months when I stopped feeding them commercial raw foods due to some problems.  One cat in particular got hooked on it and I let it go because I was already frustrated with pet foods before the recalls became public and I didn't know what else to do.  I am glad that I have been able to gradually switch them off it, just my opinion.  Just wondering, how were you able to find out that Menu makes their food?  They would not tell me over a few phone calls, so I'm wondering if they have since disclosed it.  I am especially curious about the canned food, and if it is made at Menu, then at which plant.  If anyone else has any other info about this, please let me know.
