Meowsalot, were you able to get jellie into the vet today before she passed away, did the vet think it was food related too? Do you know what you are going to do, food testing, necropsy or anything? How are YOU doing? Hugs!

Prayers for you and your family. ExperTox is the only lab that seems to be able to really isolate specific toxins/quantities - since most problems also seem to relate to mixtures. Website with info at expertox.com. Try steaming some organic chicken breast in organic chicken broth to 165 dg in a covered pan. Cut/shred and offer while still warm (not hot)for your other kittie. Haven't found a cat or dog yet that won't eat this.

I am so sorry for what you are going through, I ahd an ordeal with FF back in Mar/Apr last year, calling them gets you no where all you can do is move on. Mine had eaten Ff all there known days with me 6/7 years. A good one to try to get them off the crack is solid gold tuna, my cats loved I have mine off canned all together now, but I really cannot say I eve heard anything bad about solid gold tuna other than it comes from Thailand. I am telling you though you little ones will gobble it up, mine would of ate the whole can at one sitting. It would at least be a start to get them on the road to other food.
Good Luck Lorie Topaz and Geisha

Try Solid Gold blended tuna - available at PetCo and private retailers. My cats were addicted to FF before 3/07 too, but love this. It's good they are hungry!

No, I didnt take peanut to the vet I spent up to 700 bucks on Jellie for the doc to do nothing and get no answers, so I honeslty felt it would be pointless to bring her.
Tomorrow i will call the doctor and ask them to fax me her records once they do that i will post them

If you can 'prove in a court of law' that it was the food, you should be able to get Purina to pay the complete vet bill - since this is a different issue from the '07 food recalls.

Meowsalot, I would still get peanut to a vet, perhaps a different vet can help more than the last one. You dont want to take any chances of some sort of underlying problem remaining from the food. As far as food, alot of people seem to have success with Wellness canned food.....just an idea.

Wow! $700 for an exam and bloodwork? That sounds high, even for an ER. Don't you have a regular vet that you take the kitties to? If Peanut is still showing signs of illness, she probably should be seen by your regular vet so that it doesn't become an emergency, and it shouldn't cost as much. I am so sorry about Jellie. I hope you can have the food tested. Did Purina take the lot numbers from the can from you so that they could check on it? Will be praying that Peanut and the other kitties will be okay.

meowsalot, I'm sooo sorry to hear this tragic story. Prayers being sent to keep the other kitties healthy. I had a terrible experience with FF last November and I'm sure it was the food. My cat collasped ater eating it, her tongue hanging out, her mouth wide open, breathing so hard I thought she was going to die on the spot. I posted about it and know others have posted similar problems. I would not at all be surprised if it was the food. I hope you're able to post her blood test results for us. Truly, truly sorry.
