There are so many types of litters out there, and we have tried most of them. By far, the best we have used is Cedariffic. This is a wood litter that is fine chips and smells terrific. It costs around $8 for a bag that normally weighs twenty pound, but it is so light. This is great if you have back problems. The cats, we have 4 all took to it readily and they just love it. There is only one drawback, it tracks, but keep your broom handy and it sweeps easily. The litter usually lasts a full week for high traffic pans and a month for a low use.

We get it at our local grocery store. It really is the best, it has none of the health issues that clay has, especially the clumping type. Ever wonder what makes it clump...that dust gets on our furry friends and they lick it off of their fur. I image a clump in their bellies...yuck! Anyway, thought I would share a really terrific product with other cat lovers.

The cat litter I use for Coconut and Matrix is plain ole wood pellets for pellet stoves.  It comes in a 40lb bag and runs about $5.00.  Some mfg are now labeling their package for the use with cats because it keeps the ammonia smell down.  I have been using this for over 6 years and it's great!  I never smell the box and it's all natural.

All you need is about 3 - 4 inches in the litter box.  When the cats use it, it fluffs up and absorbs all the urine.  Just empty it every 2 - 3 days.  You will not believe how long a 40lb bags lasts and how much money you save!

If the bag says "hard wood" do not use it.  It will not absorb.
