Anybody still using these? I found some old discussions about them. Bought one a couple years ago, but never used it. Thought Elvis might like it under his bed. http://snugglesafe.co.uk/heatpad.htm

I know many kitten rescuers that think the world of them... IMHO try since you have it but I find heat reflective pads to work well for older cats

I have seen this product and considered trying it but never purchased it. I did try a heating pad for Bennie. I placed it under the bottom cushion of one of her baskets. She never entered that basket again until I removed the heating pad (and avoided it for quite a long time after the heat was gone). I purchased a heated bed for her and she did get in it a couple of times, but never really took to it. These kitties are so particular about their spaces. Anything that seems a little different must be suspect! Warmth for Elvis would be a good thing if he would accept it. But don't be surprised if he turns his tail up at it like Bennie did!

Thanks Sharky and Janet. Cats sure have a mind of their own. We used to have a nice heated cat bed until one of our male kitties decided he was going to use it for a litter box. Naughty boy.

I have SIX snugglesafes. I really like them & the cats do too. They are hard and need some padding over them.
You have to be careful not to overheat them in the microwave if you have a high power one. I'm going to try to use them this winter on a regular basis so I can keep the heat lower.
ETA - I also used one this spring to keep a young robin warm. Neighbor cat caught it in the evening and I couldn't take it to the rescue center till next day. It was wet & cold and I had to keep it in the cold entry porch away from my little carnivores. It came through the night fine with the pad to keep it warm.

My Yellowcat (former feral) loves his freedom and hates being inside, so he lives quite happily in my always open garage. I bought him a snugglesafe his first winter here, and he sleeps on it every cold night and sometimes even in the daytime if it's really cold. Mine came with two covers, so one can be in the wash if it needs cleaning. Very happy with it. http://www.futurepets.com/cgi-bin/FULLPRES.exe?PARTNUM=LEC3093I just noticed you guys were talking about a product that is microwavable. My Snugglesafe is electric - plugs in.

JustMe, in my house and outdoors with the ferals they work wonderfully. Last winter was brutally cold and Basement kitty was outside sleeping on that before I got her in. Although she did have some icecrystals in her blood when I finally caught her, it was 5 below zero with horrid windchilld......Angel vet felt she would have frozen to death if not for these pads. Rikers is on hers right now and I wanted to wash it and replace it with another one......but she growled at me. Tough little catgirl......I'll wait til she uses the box to make the change.

Fizzy really likes the heat. She'll lay in the open dryer, after I take the clothes out, until it cools down. So I am really interested in these products. I found the microwave SnuggleSafe in one of our pet boutiques, but they want $55 for it!! Really??! For a piece of 9" plastic? Guess I'll get it online. I've seen it offered at 1/2 that price.
I really like the fact that it stays warm for several hours. I used our regular heating pad for her after her dental, but it turns itself off after 60 minutes.

Must be a newer heating pad. Mine will stay on forever and has 3 settings, low, med. and high.
$55 to buy one - jeepers thats expensive!

I got one of those, but my cats didn't like it. Sophie doesn't like heat so that's understandable, but Stefie and MItzie love the heater, love the clothes just taken out of the dryer, but any kind of heating pad - nope. I tried Snugglesafe, I tried those microwaveable rice or oats in the bag thingies, with different coverings and level of camouflage (under one cushion, two cushions etc), nope. Fortunately winters here are very short and not very cold.

I just bought a Snuggle Safe a few weeks ago for Peanut and she really likes it. I think it's probably very soothing for her arthritis.
