People are just stupid ! Buy a carpet shampooer & stop putting down bath rugs & pillows. Thats what I did. Really liked that bramble set ! I buy the cheapest comforters & throw pillows I can find. I know they will be destroyed quickly. I think you have to chose between kids & animals or a nice house. My choice is obvious.2 kids,6 animals & a rundown looking house.

lesliek,

I agree with you 100%.  My cats come first at my house, all you have to do is take some preventitve measures if you know one of them has a bad habit.  Geisha blessed the couch and recliner and the basement one time when she had a UTI so now just in case we keep them covered with a tarp when we are not home, why tempt fate.  The basement is also where you enter my house from the street, its an eyesore so I warned people who are coming to visit about the situation, and if they judge me or my home for it then they never really were my friends to begin with.

NUTZ,
I keep a plastic tarp on my couch when we aren't home as well.  With Peanut, my phantom pooper, you never know where she will leave one of her little gifts!   Maybe we should go into business and design decorative slip covers for furniture that have a rubber or plastic backing (kind of like a waterproof mattress pad), something marketed to to cat parents!  Something you can throw right in the wash.  I really think there is money to be made here!   Cheesy

kittylyda,

That is a great idea, I get tired of jim complaining about our basement looking like Fred Sandford's junk yard...............LOL  He watches TV down there that is his room so of course he feels the cat did it too him.  SMARTCAT.  So he is lazy and only uncoversone end and at times he lays down and covers up with the tarp and jokes he is a bag man.  I said it might be good practice the way the economy is going.   Wink  Have to joke so I do not cry.

They do have nice expensive waterproof car seat covers, why not couch & chair covers?

That's so funny about the tarp being used as a blanket - typical man behavior!

YEAH, I'm so glad i'm not the only one with a pee problem. I guess it's not just bengals. as you can see right now i have nothing on the floors, but when I do it will easy to wash. I have old furniture, old everything. and a lot of garage sale blankets, and throws for the cats.
I bought a couple of the sheets kids put on their beds when they pee the bed. One side is warm and covered, but the other side is waterproof. I sometimes put them on the couch. I got them pretty cheap.
of, the PETA story had Me laughing so hard.  Cheesy Grin

It's bad in NJ too . I think because it didn't stay cold for longer than a few days, everything is early.Point out that the vacuum cleaner works no matter who is running it.By the way,I keep old blankets thrown over the furniture & my DH will lay on them or use them as a cover too. Too hard to move them I guess. He had been complaining about the house smelling like urine til I said why don't you shampoo the carpets & furniture ? No complaints for a week. Of course he never said it smelled better either after I shampooed everything.
