Sleep-ezz All Season Pet Bed

This is the best cat bed we have ever had.  Usually when we get a new bed no one wants anything to do with it for a long time and sometimes they boycott it completely and it goes to goodwill, since most stores do not let you return pet beds.  We no sooner cut the tags off this one and Topaz was on it, and any time she would get up Geisha would steal the spot from her so I always had one laying on the floor looking like Poor Pitiful Pearl.  The first couple of nights Topaz even stayed down stairs to sleep on it instead of coming up to the bedroom with all us. We finally broke down and bought another one 2 days ago and now thay are both happy as can be.  Of course Topaz made claim to the new one and Geisha by default got the old one.   Wink  Just wanted to share a good experience for once.

Yes we have 2 of the khaki colored medium ones, we actually had another one that got ruined because we used it in the crate with Topaz when she was injured.  When we tried to use it out of the crate once she was allowed out it must of still smelled a little like urine from when Topaz could hardly clean herself because GUESS WHO used it as a litter box right in the midddle of the living room floor. One hint her name starts with a G, that little monkey will squat anywhere she does not have a shy bladder.  SO I had to throw it away for fear of her doing it again and it leaking on the carpet which would open a whole new can of worms.

They are wonderful and I actually started putting a baby blanket over the top that way I was the blankets instead of having to wash the whole bed whn it get all furry.   Grin

My shyest feral cat does that, pees in the pet beds.  Seems she only likes certain types & only does it every once in awhile.  I started only buying the ones I can wash because of it.  These look very washable - did you try washing the one you had to throw out?

I have the perfect pet bed. It's my winter coat. With all the cat fur stuck to it, I'm half expecting some PETA activist to throw paint on me.

Ha, that's funny OF!  Mine also sleep all over the place, not just in their tidy little cat beds.  They seem to really like the hand-crocheted shawls I pick up at thrift shops, so I have those spread everywhere they like to sleep.

My ancient constipated kitty Peanut loves to poop in cat beds.  In fact just this morning I found a nice present in her favorite bed by the radiator.  I too only buy beds that I can throw in the wash.

A tree inside  Grin.I swear if you stood still long enough he would get you.Amazing how much urine can be in a chi.

Geisha thing really isn't peeing on cat beds that was only because of it getting drips on from when Topaz had it in the crate when she was injured Geisha gets confused easily when it comes to where to pee.  UGH So I had the throw the other bed out becasue even if I washed it again she would still smell her scent it is crazy cycle with her.  One time she peed on a quilt I had on my bed in the condo and I put it in storage for a over year when I moved in with Jim.  When we were getting ready to sell his place I got it out again to put on the bed to make the place show better and I swear that quilt was not on that bed 24 hours and she peed on it again.  Till this day Jim has no idea taht happened I had to throw away his matress cover and buy a new one also without him know couldn't take teh chance of the scent being on that and it happening again.  Somethings you just can't tell men.  LOL  Geisha alos has a thing for peeing on rugs with rubber backings and when she was a kitten she would pee in my 2 large potted plants I had to get rocks for in the soil.   Roll Eyes  She is quite the handful very lucky she is cute, and her dad isn't that bright Wink  Just kidding

What is it with cats and those rubber-backed bathroom rugs anyway?  When I visit the local shelter, I always see at least one cat that was surrendered because it pees on bathroom rugs.  My cats are fine most of the time, but we have to be really careful not to leave one on the floor when it is wet after someone's shower.  They will pee on it then.   Huh

catbird

Check rubber-backed throw rugs. The smell in the rubber can be inviting to your feline. If your cat consistently uses one of these to urinate on, that’s probably the reason. Remove it and replace it with a cotton-backed rug

I read the rubber to them has an ammonia smell like their pee.  UGH Something the rubber is treated with.

I use to have this comforter set on my bed when Geisha was little and she use to pee on it all the time I think she thought she was outside

yes. I've often thought that maybe the rubber smelled like their pee to them.  I know it certainly stinks!   I always feel bad for all those poor cats that get surrendered because of this.  People will get rid of the cat rather than get rid of the rugs?  Sad.

catbird,

you know my story with Geisha and all her pee-scapades  YIKES and she is still here.

When I the vet tech I got close to told me 3 of her cats were from people leaving them at the vets office because of pee issues and not wanting to pay for the cost to have them corrected would rather put them down they would say that was cheaper.  People can be  so cruel.
