My brother told me about a new product that he got from his vet that makes it really easy to pill your pet.  It is called FLAVOR-DOH.  It comes in a jar and has the consistency of children's playdough.  To use it, your just pinch off a piece of the dough and wrap it around the pill and give it to your pet like a treat.  It comes in flavors so it tastes like a treat to your pet.  Here is a link to a website where you can get more information.  It appears that you probably have to obtain this from your vet as it is distributed by veterinary supply companies.

I realize this has been a pretty old thread; but I think I'll put in my input anyway.  Flavor-Doh does work as a "piller" that hides the bitter flavor of some meds.  It is like clay-putty and you scoop just enough to be able to cover the pill or pill fragment that you need to administer.  Dogs are easier to pill this way.  With some savvy cats, Flavor-Doh works only until they realize you are tricking them!  he he he

Grub cat loves Flavor-Doh! She licks it all off her pill, and spits the pill out.    Cheesy
She can do this with Pill Pockets, too.  Luckily she's easy to pill these days.  I guess I've worn her down.
