StickyIcky, we lost our KiKi to the tainted food last year so Im probably paranoid but at the same time we are feeding commercial food to our new girl so I might not be paranoid enough, lol  I think all you can do is do the best you can.  I think it helped me to read thru alot of the info here at Itchmo on people's experiences with food section and just do the best you can.  I think we have all learned that sometimes its what the pet does best on is the food to go with as each pet is different.  Im sorry, I dont know anything about Merrick so I cant help you there.  Ive been down the road you are on, feeding one thing and then hear some not so good stuff about it and then change the food, and so on.  Im only posting to give you hope that at some point you will find something you feel comfortable enough to stick with, if it can happen with me, it can happen with you too.  Although thats not to say I wont switch what Im feeding next week if something comes out about the food were on......or then again maybe I wont or then again.........oh well I should just stop while Im ahead.   Grin Wink
Sorry Im not much help.

Hi- I've recently noticed a really nasty smell from Merrick's canned dog food so I called them regarding the new one with Tripe and they said it was normal.  Then I noticed mold looking stuff on Cowboy cookout, Wild Buffalo Grill was super runny... anyway- the smell was weird and I've thrown them all away.  Just wandering if anyone else has had weird experiences?  I will no longer use this brand!

I did open a can of Merricks maybe about a month ago (can't remember the flavor now) & it did smell. Shocked  I believe it was one I hadn't tried before so I really wasn't sure if this was normal or not.  I've found most of them smell a lot like human food......but this one could've contained tripe.  Never thought to check that because I know tripe stinks.

I only gave Hannah a tiny amount with each meal......she gobbled everything down & never got sick so now I'm thinking maybe it did have tripe in it.

I've used Merricks for a while now (since another co. had a problem) but I only use maybe one can a month, if that much, & a tiny amount in each meal.  Still paranoid! Undecided
