Whatever your answer, please post more details.....

Naming the sites and the products might help someone else avoid the disappointment you experienced.

I am very unhappy with my first order of pet food from PetFoodDirect.

Sad Customer Service Sucks!
Sad Shipping is s-l-o-w!
Sad Shipping was $40 for this one order... too high.

I don't know where the dickens my order even is, I don't even know if it has been shipped!

Point of reference....Five (5) days after placing this order with PetFoodDirect (for Evanger's food) I called Evanger's and ordered additional food from them. It arrived quickly, in fact, the dogs and cats have already eaten nearly a combined case....and I STILL DON'T KNOW WHERE THE ORDER FROM PETFOODDIRECT EVEN IS! that was placed 5 days BEFORE the order direct from Evanger's.

Huh
Will I ever order from Pet Food Direct again?

NO WAY!

Even tho I voted on the poll just once, I have a second unhappy first experience with an online petsupply vendor. (Yes, it WAS a FULL MOON!)

Sad Customer Service Sucks!
Sad Shipping Slow and high?
Sad Order whereabouts is totally unknown

FuturePet.com has me plenty concerned about my order with them.

I placed the order online on their website.

4 days past, and I had gotten no further conformation of any kind.
I called them.
I gave them my name....they didn't have an order in my name.

I gave them my e-mail address...they didn't have an order with my email address.

I gave them the conformation number I was given at the time of the online order 4 days prior...they didn't have ANY SUCH NUMBER. They tried the number without using the first number...still no order that way either.

Now I'm beginning to get really concerned since I paid with a credit card at the time of the order.

I give them my phone number. Quite some time later, they called back and said they found the order, but didn't have all the items in stock . They would get them from another place and I was assured the order would get out the next day....with a different order number. I asked what they had in stock, and they didn't know anything about the items.

It is now the following week. I have gotten no tracking information....no shipping info...nothing at all.

Will I ever order from FuturePet.com again?

NO WAY!

I had several unpleasant experience with ordering online pet products..high shipping, sloooow delivery, wrong items then I ran across jefferspet.com  I've been using them for about 4 years now and have been very happy with their service. If they don't have an item in stock, they call me the day I place my order and my orders always arrive within a few days. The only down side is the only food they seem to carry is Natural Balance so I've never ordered food from them.

I have used a few on line pet supply sites and have yet to have a bad experience (knock on wood). I have heard from others that Pet Food Direct is very slow. Here are the ones I have had experience with: entirelypets.com, petsage.com, only4pets.com and onlynaturalpet.com is a great site full of natural foods toys, health aids and supplements.

I have had good results from Amazon, Natural Pet Food Direct and am happy with my purchases. I always do a shopcomparison on shopzilla for the best prices since I buy Malaseb products and the Virbac site was not cheap.  HTH, Mia2

Sandy,
Thanks for the post. I will check out the one you've been using since you've had good luck with jefferspetcom. I've just not come across their site before.

Too bad I just stopped buying anything by Natural Balance. Sad
Thanks!

Laurie,

I'm so glad you mentioned others have had s-l-o-w delivery from PetFoodDirect, I won't feel slighted with my as yet undelivered, unacknowledged, untrackable order from Pet Food INDIRECT.

I ordered from them because they carry Evanger's. I've been to 2 of the sites you listed, but haven't ordered (yet) from them. Smiley I will look at the other site, petsage.com, you listed. Thanks.
It's clear I won't be ordering from PetExpo again either. I only wanted the garlic/brewers yeast tabs, but the tabs were $6.95 with $10.95 SHIPPING on it! This is the same company as FuturePet.com .... I have no idea what, if or when they shipped. I just hope the garlic/brewers yeast arrives soon now.

Mia2,

Interesting, I also ordered through Amazon.com for PetFood IN-DIRECT. Usually I feel better going through amazon, but sometimes their vendors are slow...unlike amazon itself.

Good idea to use shopzilla for comparisons. I've never done that. Seems like now would be a good time to start. Smiley

mginsd,

Appreciate it, I'll take all the "feel better" thoughts I can get about these online orders. Smiley  Trying to find Evanger's with cheap shipping since I order sooooo much canned foods....but ya can't beat that "free shipping"!

Have been to the honestkitchen site, but not the others. Thanks. I'll go there and look around.

I have dealt with:

www.thehonestkitchen.com
http://erinsedge.zoovy.com/     (great prices and low shipping $$$)
http://sojournerfarms.com/index.html     Free shipping on food
Be aware that the dried fruits and veggies in Sojos Europa come from China.

A good site in general (although I haven't bought food from them) is:

http://www.sitstay.com

He's changed his spin since his emails to me a month or so ago.

If he's testing, that's new.

But I STILL don't want to buy food from someone getting their stuff from China.

Its good to buy organic treats in quanity from Amazon and they do shop free sometimes, depending on the promotion. I would most definitely compare prices especially with the stuff I buy since its expensive at the vets ( special shampoos, etc) and as for Natural Pet food
Is Natural Pet Food Direct the same company as Pet Food Direct? Martha, I dont know but I know you can request a catalogue from Nat.Pet Food so check it out.

I have ordered a few times from PetFoodDirect. Never again. They charge a lot for shipping, it takes forever to get the order and the last time I received an order, there were several mistakes. (Dog food sent instead of cat food.) The customer service department woman was snotty too. Um, I don't know what that was all about, but no thank you!!

Also had ordered a harness item to fit one of my dogs, followed the online catalog's fitting guidelines based on my dog's weight. When the item arrived it was way, WAY too small. So I asked for an exchange for a larger size but PetFoodDirect said that wasn't their fault and I would have to pay shipping to return and shipping to get a different size. Because, as the unfriendly CS person pointed out "The sizing problem is the manufacturers fault, not ours." She suggested I ask the manufacturer to refund my costs to me.HuhHuhHuhHuh? Honest, this is exactly what I was told!

So I just donated the item to a local animal rescue group and wrote off ordering from PetFoodDirect as a huge mistake on my part.

I have ordered from HealthyPets.com for about 2 years now - supplements and supplies - and they are great with customer service. They ship very quickly too. I wish they sold pet food.
