I ordered this product, Newton Homeopathics Thuja 125 Pellets, to give my handsome boy Solomon prior and after a rabies vaccine...since I can't get the rabies vaccine from the states brought to Argentina.

Has anyone used this product....feedback would be much appreciated...

Thanks so much!!

Deborah,

This is a homeopathic remedy - it is not to be used lightly.  Many sources will tell you that they are "harmless" and "perfectly safe, even in large quantities".  This is not true.  Homeopathy can cure, but it can also harm.

You cannot "antidote" the effects of a vaccine.  You can only either not give the vaccine or give the vaccine and wait for symptoms to show, then treat the symptoms.

I'm sorry, I wish I could tell you something different.

Lesliek....thank you for your thoughts....I have been using tinctures, flower, most of my adult life and would prefer to do so if possible instead of medications...I feel they both have their place and need.

I am putting the info on this product below...I see nothing that could harm my cat and I would never do anything to do so.  I feel the rabies vaccine is far worse than any homeopathic product ...but that's just my opinion.  I am only doing the vaccine because it's the law in order for me to ship him back to the states when I move, otherwise I would not do so.

The website I purchased this from had many positive remarks from clients that have used this product...I contacted the company asking for information if they had such a product and this is what they suggested.

Pronounced "thoo'-yuh," Thuja occidentalis is derived from the northern white cedar, Arbor vitae, which means "Tree of Life." This is the primary vaccinosis (adverse reaction to a vaccination) remedy for cats and dogs. If you must have your pet vaccinated, it is a good idea to give a dose of Thuja within two hours following the injection. It can also be helpful in case of immediate vaccine reactions such as vomiting or diarrhea occurring within a few hours of the shot. If you miss the immediate window of opportunity, however, don't worry - this homeopathic remedy can be administered at any time following vaccinations.

Thuja can be helpful to resolve ongoing symptoms of vaccinosis, which may result in a wide array of immediate symptoms like fatigue, muscle pain, weakness, fever, etc., following administration of a vaccine, as well as carry long term effects that may appear weeks or months after your pet is vaccinated. Long term effects of over-vaccination include skin eruptions at the vaccine site, skin and respiratory allergic symptoms, respiratory infections, digestive issues, and even arthritis. For more information on the topic of vaccination and the risks associated with over-vaccination, please see our article, The Truth About Vaccinations, in our Holistic Healthcare Library.

Thuja is also helpful for symptoms of disorders that affect the skin, including warts, rashes, eruptions, cysts, and tumors. Other major body systems that may be benefited by Thuja are the gastrointestinal system (it is excellent for "sputtery" diarrhea) and the urinary tract (some cases of chronic cystitis may be helped by this remedy).

Deborah I use homeopathic remedies for myself and there are cautions on the pkg.  How did you find this immune support product?

JJ...I found this on the website, Only Natural Pet Store, out of Boulder Colorado.  The website leans towards the natural approach and has a large supply of food, supplements and the like.  I was looking at another item and emailed them to see if it would work for "immune support" prior to or after a vaccine and a gal emailed me right back and suggested the item I purchased.

I will of course follow the instructions and if it doesn't feel right once I get it and read the instructions than I won't use it.  I am in Argentina, I have to give my cat a rabies vaccine, and I feel I need to try protect him as best I can since the vaccine w/o the mercury is not available here.  I am not making this decision lightly...trust me on that.   I did go and look up the ingredient they use and it's been used for immune support for a long time.  Maybe I am being over protective and don't need to be concerned...but I would rather be safe than sorry on this.  He has only had 1 other rabies shot and that was prior to our move here 3 years ago....I don't vaccinate unless I am forced to.

Why do you feel I need to be cautious?  I would truly like your feedback...and thank you for that!

Deborah sorry I am just getting back to answer this. The caution is from what I have read on homeopathic treatments. Some contain a lil of what your treating/using the treatment for. Not saying that they contain the rabies themselves but on some websites they just post a caution when using anything whether it be homeopathic or another alternative treatment. I do wish you the best in using this and know how  you feel about vaccinations.

Just read the warning on my pkg. of Cold Sores & Fever Blisters tablets that dissolve under the tongue - As with any drug if you are pregnant or nursing a baby, seek the advice of a licensed health care professional before using this product. Keep out of reach of children. In case of accidental overdose contact a poison control center immediately. This is what I was referring to as far a being cautious. But you have done your research and found the best product to use. Looking forward to hearing further about the day of the vaccination and your use of this product. Take care.
