Wow! I am surprised that no one here uses any Glyco-Flex products.
Figured I would chart Jessie's experience anyway, in case any of you have similar issues in the future.
Hx: Jessie has had a trick knee, that pops out, since she was a year and a half . The first incident resulted in her favoring the knee for about a week. Then there was no noticeable issue for the next 3 years, at which time, she decided to challenge a 125 pd lab. OOPS! He got up on his hind legs, and that was enough to pop her knee out again. She had intermittent issues for about two weeks. When she did, I massaged her leg and pulled it out, inadvertently replacing her knee cap where it belonged.
A year later, we went to a new vet. I mentioned her intermittent knee problems and after his exam he recommended the supplement of 1000 mg of glucosamine and 1000 mg of MSM together for her, as her knee is highly unstable and it WILL become arthritic. (Her knee is a Grade III, if you follow these issues.) With a supplement, we can retard the development of arthritis.
So, on May 1, 2008, we started, with the vet's approval, Glyco-Flex III.
Now, the label tells you it takes a month or more to see results. So here is what I have seen so far in my 45 pd pit mix, 33 days into treatment:
-She tolerates it well-no tummy upset(I give it to her when she eats) -She looks at the tablet as a treat! -After about three weeks she started getting off the couch with a big stretch of her hind legs, which hasn't happened in awhile. _also, if she runs hard, she is willing to run hard again the next day, which she previously would not.
Will update when there is more news.
