This story gets my vote for the most under-reported of 2008 if true. Saw this report sound bite on my local TV news station yesterday and chose to ignore it. But maybe it shouldn't be: http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,24070088-13762,00.htmlJuly 24, 2008 12:01am FORMER NASA astronaut and moon-walker Dr Edgar Mitchell - a veteran of the Apollo 14 mission - has stunningly claimed aliens exist.

Then again, I live in the home of Ruth, Nevada, and endless speculation about Area 51. So just don't know what to make of this ... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/07/24/moonwalker-aliens-exist_n_114884.htmlWhat I can say for sure is those of us in Las Vegas saw the stealth bomber flying in daylight long before the government admitted its existence.

In a statement, a spokesman said: "NASA does not track UFOs. NASA is not involved in any sort of cover up about alien life on this planet or anywhere in the universe.
'Dr Mitchell is a great American, but we do not share his opinions on this issue.' Just what you would expect them to say - they are certainly not going to admit that there is a cover-up!

You couldn't miss the stealth bomber in daylight. Spookiest dang black thing I ever saw in the sky. However, I haven't seen any little gray men or women ... maybe I should add, yet.

3cat, A group of B-2's are stationed at Whiteman AFB in Missouri, and we get an occasional fly-over here in Kansas. Long before you see them, there's a powerful, low frequency rumble. The rumble grows louder, and louder, and then you see them. It's quite a sight! Sort of scary, though. Here's a U-Tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdbpMOWGYGk5CatMom =^..^ =

Dr. Mitchell does come from Rozwell apparently. So that kind of puts him in an area that would have been discussing this for a long time, like Las Vegas. I used to do some work involving Teamsters labor arbitrations and lawsuits on crane operators who had accidents out at the Nevada Test Site and heard some rather amazing comments from some of the workers. So it's a subject of some fascination for me, but there does not seem to be any hard evidence here. Still in all, a subject for interesting speculation. Given the vastness of the universe and Drake's equation and some of the brilliant minds involved, the possibility seems to be there. 5Cat, I had forgotten the rumble that causes one to rush out the door to see the plane making it. It is pretty different from most sonic booms. DMS, just read the Discovery link. It certainly points to photographic evidence and recent events. So here the confusion goes again. Would certainly like to be around for that first Contact{a favorite movie}. Hope it's not Independence Day. Allen Telescope Array: http://www.seti.org/ata/

I though he recalled his experience sublimely. It was really beautiful and apparently changed his life forever.

lol, 5Cat. I'm not sure even technologically advanced all powerful aliens could do that on some days.
Still would very much like our government to open up to the public everything it knows or has investigated in this regard. You have to wonder why even the President is not deemed fit to have access to this information as reported by Dr. Mitchell in that Discovery Channel interview. Who are the people who sit in judgement on the current President and make that choice? I had always kind of assumed the elected President was at the top of the government power structure.

This has always fascinated me. I don't think we are alone at all. There has to be some lifeform somewhere, maybe not as we recognize it, but some being.

I wonder if they are too smart to show themselves? Let's face it, the Gov, The FBI, CIA, and all the rest probably know more than they talk about. and the first thing they would want to do is- Capture, experiment, maybe testing, kill? who knows, but it wouldn't be nice.

Poor little cat looks so scared you just want to hug it and make the look go away. Aliens among us already? Even ET wanted to go home. I think I prefer the special stardust idea that we're all made of better, here or from elsewhere. Just would like to know where elsewhere might be and if the stardust is related.
This sound file is the English greeting from the 1977 Voyager spacecraft now out of our solar system and proceeding into interstellar space. I think I'm ultimately holding out for an intelligible greeting back:
