Oh no leslieK...she is a very good girl....she really is very obedient...she is so much like my human daughter in that she really does not get into trouble!! (Harry was quite like my human son.. not so obedient!. )

Carol; Lucy is beautiful! Her coat really shines. I love the picture of her in the car with the breeze blowing her hair.

Carol Lucy really enjoys the wind blowing while she has her head out the window! My dog Foxy Lady puts two feet on the arm rest to have the wind blowing in her face too. I think they are happier being able to be out the windows. Lucy looks so shiny clean - glad the groomer visit went well.

Lucy looks super-happy about that outing you took. Here eyes are just full of light and she looks very relaxed. Hope you can find time to get out a lot and have fun adventures this summer. Maybe rent a camper and take a long trip, like that other Lucy did in the movie, The Long, Long Trailer.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Long%2C_Long_Trailer

This past Sunday we took Lucy to visit Mike's best friend from high school. He and his wife have two goldens, Isaac and Daisy, 9 and 6 y/o. They have been together twice before and the second time Isaac bit alittle at Lucy's ear (which he would do on occasion without warning) and of course Lady Lucille fought back---she was not about to take that!! After that encounter (which was not that bad) whenever Isaac was near Harry she would step in between them as if to say--don't try it buddy--of course Harry would be trying to avoid eye contact at all costs! Sunday Isaac was wearing a muzzle when we got there but he didn't need to keep it on as he really was very relaxed and seemed to know this was the "cute redhead that bites back"! It was a little sad as I do remember so clearly having all four dogs together last year...we took a bottle of "Harry's Hillbilly Brew" to them as they referred to themselves as aunt and uncle! Lucy amazingly did stay with us humans most of the time but it was good to see her with other pups. Our playdates have not happened yet and the dogpark now has a leash only policy (due to a dog having been bit and collapse a lung) and I have to say some of the more aggressive dogs at the park are not watched to well---and Lucy will retaliate so I can't handle that stress..... Lucy still is not playing like she used to---I bought her a nice vinyl bright pink ball and she did play with it for a short time. I did engage her in tennisball retrieval in the house (not outside yet) and I wonder if this is just her new normal---she was quieter due to Harry's declining health--so I don't know that it is due to sadness. She is just a quieter pup who never wants me out of her sight. Me and my shadow is my new themesong! and I love it... We need each other. Yesterday I discovered that I needed to mow the grass that is planted on Harry's grave and I had to tell Lucy to move as she loves to lay there. To realize that I needed to mow there made me burst into tears---and Lucy came running to me as if she knew---it seems like forever since I had these two together...Our activites have changed as she has a new freedom...she is really good off leash so when I am doing gardening or outside house stuff she can be with us--we had to put Hody on a leash as he could not be trusted. In fact it was at our friends that we saw Sunday that last visit after being at their house for a few hours I decided that Hody would stay with the other 3 goldens so I took off his leash and the rest of us watched him gallop down the driveway like a horse--with us chasing him down....and then the "what" face that you have all seen!! Here's our friend getting the lobsters ready last summer-(hopefully he won't mind being posted ) The four goldens thought the lobsters were neat! from left to right-Daisy-Harry-Isaac and Lucy. (no surprise who was the farthest away )

Love the way those goldens are focused on the lobsters in the photo!
I agree with rom6--you and Lucy need each other. And I'm glad you have each other.

That Issac does look like a character the way his lip is a little curled. Sounds like Lucy keeps him in his place. Nobody can replace Harry but it sounds like Lucy is doing well and getting out and about. Good job!

Carol,
Glad that Lucy is having lots of time out n' about. Love the picture of the goldens with the lobsters! Issac looks like a real character; sounds like he has figured out "women rule".

Lucy had Harry and you before. Now she's strengthening the bond between you both. Everyone is right - you two do need each other now more than ever.

well, Lucy has spent much of today sitting on the steps to the pool... ...yesterday i bought her a new boogie board--fishes all over it---and as soon as she saw it she made a beeline to the pool....but until I make the green jello like water safe, she has to just sit and drool...I suspect we will spend many a day floating around talking about old times!! This summer will be very different not only because of harry but her 2 legged "sissy" Ali moved out so it will be just Lucy and Mom in the pool...chillin...and of course I will have pictures!
