I now have a job....I am the official dog sitter for Murphy on the days Bonnye works...usually Monday and Thursday and some Fridays!!!!  This gives him some socialization that he needs as his big "brother" Simba still pretends he is not there (which is actually an improvement)..and it is nice for the three of them to interact....Lucy has sure come along way since jumping out the car window at Stop and Shop that first Saturday morning 3 months ago....part of our hearts healing (Mike and mine) is seeing Lucy's heart healing....I was told by an animal trainer, who I called about rescuing a pup he had, that I was humanizing Lucy by saying she was sad after losing Harry--she was not he said as that is a human emotion....but I happen to know first hand in this particular case there is not an animal trainer in this world that could convince me that she was not mouring....and so very sad!

And about them getting big....they are both over 40 pounds now.....but think they are lapdogs...but so did Harry at 105! Cheesy

Such a hard job, I'll bet!   Grin

I'm glad to see the positive changes for Lucy.  Anyone who tells you cats and dogs (and other animals too) don't feel sadness and other emotions is just full of ...beans.  Their brains are so similar to ours, especially in the parts that deal with feeling and emotion.  And one has only to observe them, with an open mind, to see that they do indeed have feelings that appear like ours in many ways.

I absolutely agree that animals have emotions like ours. I've seen it many times.

Anyone who doesn't know animals have feeling have taken no time to interact and watch them - they pick-up on your emotions so keenly its unreal that they sense your vibes. And Lucy can feel the love coming from her Jack and also Murphy as well. Love is a great healer.
