Tell the New York Times How Does Your Pet Keep You Healthy? -send video or comment

There's a whole head butting/hugging/purring ceremony about waking up and
greeting each other every day at my house. Often it's one glorious part of the day.

I agree - emotional health is the most important and I wouldn't survive the stress of work without the pleasure of waking/getting up with them - and of course coming home to them de-stresses my day & reminds me what is worthwhile about life.

That bond with loved animals is very special, JoMax. Really does keep you anchored
in the important and priceless.

When I didn't have Bucky, I missed the way he would hug me.  Now that I've gotten him back, he still hasn't hugged me, but he will fall asleep on my shoulder and cuddles more than he ever did.  I really missed him.  He gives me moments when the world no longer matters, purring in my ear and drooling down my neck.

I can't imagine life without cats and the the things I learn from them every day...when they are darn good and ready to give me certain instructions, of course.
