So, I introduced Peacemaker to the kitties.  They don't like the smell of it much, and they hate the little sprayer.  Once I ditched the sprayer (to spray on beds and carpet and whatnot) and started adding it to the drinking water (used primarily by Sir), and just stroking the drops into their fur, they stopped reacting negatively to it.

Sir has calmed noticeably since then.  He even play dashed around the apartment on Sunday (my day off!), without alarming anyone or chasing anyone.  I also found him in Bisi's pink kitty bed.  That's the first time I have seen him in a kitty bed, other than his safe spot.

Beau is rammy this week.  I hope it means spring is coming.  He is chasing the girls mercilessly when I am home.  So I have started playtime again.

He was so bad yesterday, Bisi threw up her duck duck goose.  Then I fed a late dinner (worked last night) and she came out for playtime and threw up again.  (I probably need to start her back up on zyrtec.)  So this morning, when she indicated a willingness to play, I put the toy away, got my breakfast, and sat on the bed, and she came and tucked herself up on my shoulder and purred.  Since she doesn't purr that often, or that loudly, any old day, I knew she wanted to have "her" time with me.  Bella sat by my leg as though to say if that was all she was going to get, she'd settle, but I will pay for it later.   Roll Eyes

Good boy Sir!  Smiley Hopefully he'll learn to enjoy it in time(unlike Smoggy  Roll Eyes ). Sorry to hear Beau is terrorizing the girls. Poor Bisi! I hope she is feeling better after her special time with you.

Bella had her check up on Thursday.  She is doing ok, but the pred was no longer working, so she is now on depo shots Sad  I feel like it's the beginning of the end.  But she is a happier kitty today, just really really hungry.  Does Depo normally make a cat hungry?  It's in the cortisone family, right?  So it would?

Meanwhile, Beau has also gotten really really hungry.  I wonder if it's the weather?  Bisi is always gulping her food down, but she's hungrier than normal too.  Both Beau and Bisi are gine weight wise, but it wont take much for them to transition from "fine" to "fat". LOL

Sir is gaining weight slowly.  I beefed up his calories with Wysong dry food (I had purchased two buy one, get one bags which were getting past their "best by" date) and his ribs feel ok and his back is getting better.  He eats everything I give him, even if he doesn't like it.  He does take longer to eat food he doesn't like, so I'm trying to pay attention and make sure I have foods he likes.  I also end up standing between his bowl and the rest of the cats, because he will get chased away from his food by beau.  He's getting braver and settling down some.  I gave the cats 2 herb bags filled with catnip, and he really enjoyed those.  So did the other three, but Sir got to play with them.  He doesn't get to play with a lot of toys.  I bought him an extra large kicky toy (because he is so long in the body), and beau promptly took it over.  *sigh*  I don't know how to make sure he gets his toy and knows that it's his toy.  I'll keep working on it.  Wink

Hehhhh, the line between "fine" and "fat."   Tongue  Smiley

Did the doctor say anything about Bella's no longer reacting to the pred to make you worry?  I'm sending good vibes for the Depo to work well for her.

Well, I'm sorry that Bella has had to advance in her treatment protocol, but I hope this will work for a long, long time. And I am very glad to hear that Sir is gaining.

FWIW, mine seem hungrier than usual lately, too.

Yes, the Depo is a steroid, so it will have the side effect of making her hungry.  I hope it keeps her feeling well.

Sounds like the other kitties are doing well and that Sir is adjusting.  It takes time.

August, we discussed putting her on depo back when she was first diagnosed.  The doc didnt want to do that until she was using pred on a daily basis.  So I knew it was coming.  I put it off as long as I could.

She is happier today, less touch, less intolerant.  Didnt even yell at Sir this morning.  All of her grouchiness is from this disease, i've always known that.  So i'm happier to see the real bella coming out.

Sorry to hear Bella has to move to a stronger medicine. I'm glad that she is obviously feeling better though!

I know all about toys bought for one cat stolen by another!  Roll Eyes I've come to realize I just have to buy each one the same toy. Even that doesn't work all the time. Smoggy has been known to take the other cats toys and hoard them.

I hope the depo works well for Bella for a long time to come. It's good she's acting like herself again.

Well, it is good to hear she's feeling so well.  I'm sending lots of good vibes that she continues to do well with the Depo.

The depo could make her hungry , but if its all of them the weather may be the cause. Hopefully the new med will work for a long time ! I always buy 3 of everything. 1 for Oreo ,1 for Bruce & 1 for when Sammy is here .
