Lightning is becoming a beauty. That's what TLC can do! I love the picture of the horse and the cat.

All the new photos are great too.

Catbird..hahaha..that is Pansey itching. They can reach those itchers onto nearly every part of their bodies.they use their horns like fingers. They reach for branches, pick up feed pans, itch, pull things, push things, carry things and wack each other with the horns. They shake their hornes at each other in different ways and angles to communicate different emotions. It is quite complicated.A stamp, snort and sideways horn shake means something different than a double snort , curled lip and horns lowered to the ground. They talk constantly and I am amazed at the interaction and social network. Sad thing is I find myself doing goat speak at work..pawing my foot, putting my head down, snorting...hahaha..well come to think of it, I guess I acted that way before I had goats...uuuhhm
Here they are fighting over possesion of their picnic table.

LOL, love these pics!  And for real, its called Pansey itching?  What is the pansey part in it?  I just love all this, learning goat-speak and all!  Im guessing the picnic table must be a very coveted sign of wealth in goat world, no wonder they are bickering over it!   Cheesy  Pygmypets, I think you will be OK at work with the snorting and head down, etc....just as long as you dont start Pansey itching their too..... Sandi..sorry my sentence structure is so poor. What  I meant was that Pansey was using her horns to scratch. But I loved your new term for the vertical head itch. I will call it the Pansey itch from now on.
The black ones names is Rose, we also have Lily ..all named after my grandmom's favorite flowers. She instilled in me a great love of farmlife and the animals she shared her farm and life with. She was so gentle and kind in ecerything she did at the farm and she left a huge impression on me.So my beloved little girl goats are named for her. thanks again Sandi for checking out my furry family. here is Pansey, Rose and Lily for you

Sandi..hahaha..that is where I got my degree also...hahaha..You have a great way with words. I think stand up comic or late nite talk show host is in your future. Grin.
We are already calling the vertical head itch the "pansey itch" on a daily basis now and it makes me smile everytime we say it. Thanks for adding to our goat-speak.
And you are right, the picnic table, old tire, and set of stairs are very coveted and fought over on a daily basis. It is  constantly musical picnic bench .gives us lots of giggles.
More Pansey itching for you.And general goat nonsense. Note the donkey trying to torment Bob ob his stairs...teasing him that he is gonna snatch it from him.

I luv this thread.

Is there a bunkhouse? Do you charge to stay there? Or barter chores for bunkhouse privileges?

Offy, I agree even if those chores involve Pansey itching or perhaps even playing referee to the daily bickering over the log, stairs, tire, etc....lol   Shocked  I want to know the answers to your questions too, bording, chores for food, etc?   Wink

awesome!  You have room in the farm for us too?  It just looks simply wonderful there and I can see the pets adore their life!

Just catching up here with all the wonderful new photos.  You did a great job with Lightning!  He had it really rough before he found you.

It's fun to see how simple objects like tables can keep the goats busy.  Good exercise, too!  Very interesting about their complex communications.
