Bob is a cute goat! What does he get for a snack? I have a friend who raises goats and he and his family get very attached to them.

What do the goats do when they are angry, besides butt you? Do they bite like a horse or claw at you with their hooves? Do they warn you first, like when a horse puts back it's ears?
I've always wanted a goat. They seem like such self-possesed smart little animals, full of energy & up to no good if they can find something to get in to. I've heard putting up a good fence for them is much harder than for most other animals because they are escape artists.

Patricia..They love "junk food" esp salty snacks . But they definitely have a sweet tooth. They want to eat anything we are eating. But for the last 6 months they have been on healthy snacks. Baby carrots, animal crackers, shredded wheat and saltines. My husband puts the snack in his mouth and Rose jumps up and snatches it. She loves playing this game and looks forward to husband coming home from work so she can play. Here is Nuggett grinning in anticipation of a cracker.

Petslave..our goats don't butt us , just each other. They are very affectionate towards us and have very loving natures. They like being with people and become very attached. Our goats would run down the driveway to our cars when we came home from work, so excited to see us.They do whack each other pretty good though but none have ever been aggressive to us. Like this group of photos shows they can have a stand in place tantrum though. HA HA They do not bite or kick ever. They have very high IQ's and can figure oit a way in , out and around most fencing. But we have a special mesh fencing made just for goats that works very well and is safe for them. But they get so attached to people they won't leave. Our goats have 44 acres and won't leave the yard or porch. They want to be where we are. They learned how to open the house and garage doors, unplug electric fences, etc. They watch and remember. They are truly amazing. But what really gets you is their very affectionate gentle natures. I have two rescues that are ready for new homes. Shall I send them your way? I know you would fall in love with them.

Why do cats always jump on your lap with their claws out? Especially when you are wearing shorts?

Catwoods..ty for the compliment. The goats are easy subjects. They are fascinated by the camera and usually look right at it. I speak their name and they look right at me and pose. Here are three of my fav photos. They remind me of the old farmsteads of my grandparents I remember visiting as a kid. We had just finished 2 weeks of rain and the goat shed was sitting in soggy mud. I was so worried about the goats but found them enjoying the mud by leaping over it, from structure to feedpan to washtub to igloo. So their feet really never touched the mud .here are some of the mud pics,

Bridgett, yes this is Diablo and Pablo. We adopted them last fall. They are very tiny and the little stinkers bite our butts!

You have such a great array of furry critters! Those pictures make me long for the day when I can move out to the country and have my own little herd of farm animals. I'm partial to Llamas, myself, but I have always like goats as well.
