People who have been around the forum for awhile probably know about my struggles to integrate Linley, a young stray male we found, with the rest of our cats.  We adopted Linley in November 2007, and it has been a long, hard battle to teach him not to attack our other cats, and to teach them to tolerate him.  It's been the subject of a couple of threads here, and many of you may be tired  of hearing about it.

However, here is proof that a person should never give up!  My daughter took this picture today:

They may not be the best of friends, but here from left to right are Kalahari (the little cat Linley picked on terribly), Cameo (the dominant cat who hated him the most after he started attacking her, and who whupped his butt a couple of months ago), and Mr. Linley himself--all sharing the same loveseat!

edited to fix typo--it was 2007, not 2006.  That's what I get for staying online past my bedtime!  (My other two cats, Phantom and Isis, are not in this picture.)

How heartwarming to see that they're sharing the sofa!

You must all feel so wonderful to have them finally starting to get along.

catbird,

I enjoy all the pictures of pets that get posted - keep them coming! It looks like Cameo was Kalahari's 'protector' and since Cameo was able to 'put Linley in his place' all turned peaceful again.

That is a good story about patience in these matters.  They looks very peaceful now.  Maybe the butt-whupping was what was needed.

They all look very comfortable in each other's presence.  So happy to hear that peace reigns at last!  Smiley

It's great to see them all getting along, catbird. I always enjoy pictures of many cats, all lounging around and taking it easy.

What a heartwarming story and photo. it is so great that your love and patience  dealing with the problem allowed all your kitty's to live in harmony. What a great looking bunch they are too.

Oh, that's good to see!  And Isis is still shunning Linley's love?  hee hee hee...  but you're right... it may take a while, but cats do integrate in time.

And Isis is still shunning Linley's love?

Note that Isis is not in the picture!  (BTW they posed this themselves, so it was all voluntary.  My daughter just walked into the room and found them sitting that way.)

Isis still turns and looks in the opposite direction when Linley enters the room. Cheesy
