For two months a pair of eyes has been haunting me.

Then a couple weeks ago, they posted a video.  Still available, and when I called NO ONE had inquired for him Sad

So today, I drove 324 miles to go get him.

Beau couldn't wait, he was more curious than Bisi, who is put out because she is not allowed in the bedroom right now.

Pray that this will work.  I am his 5th adopter Sad  His first owner died, the 2nd returned him after a couple years for not getting along with their other cat, the third returned him after 2 days for causing the dogs to fight..  Huh ... and his fourth went into a nursing home/assisted living complex.  He's very shy, and will take a while to build trust with my other cats.  Undecided

Beau has already tried to collapse the playpen by trying to peer in the top. Sad  Sir Whiskers has no idea what is going on.

I can see how his eyes haunted you, merrihart.  Kiss Congratulations on your new family member! And blessings upon you for driving all that way to give this poor boy another chance. Sending all sorts of good wishes for a smooth integration with the others.

How exciting merrihart! I hope Sir Whiskers will have an easy transition into your cat family. He looks like he so wants a home. I hope those frisky youngsters don't give him a hard time!

He is a kibble addict.  Worse, he is a meow mix addict!  I gave him wysong epigen in with his meow mix, I gave him a little bit of earthborn chicken, and I gave him some rotisserie chicken.  he ate the meowmi mix and a little bit of the rotisserie chicken.  I'll work on that.

I hope you'll be able to wean him off the meow mix. Cosmo won't eat anything but kibble (and lettuce and jello) despite my efforts to encourage him to eat canned.

At least he likes the rotisserie chicken!

Grin merrihart to the rescue.   Grin Congrats on you newest family member!

Well at least 2 of the 4 lost homes could not be helped. Poor little guy  Kiss . It must be so hard on them losing a home due their person's either dying or going into a nursing home. I know that he will have a good home now.

Hugs to the newest member of Itchmo!  Kiss

How are Sir Whiskers and his new brother and sisters doing today? He looks like such a sad, forlorn little boy right now. I so hope that the adjustments go easily and that he is soon a real part of your family.

Thank you, everyone!  He looked so sad, i couldn't stop from getting him.

Beau is very curious, and very well behaved, for the most part.  Bisi is CURIOUS!  and she just jumped on top of the play pen and got hissed at...or hissed at Sir Whiskers.  not sure which.

Sir Whiskers hisses for sure.  He is sitting in his cube bed, sight blocked of other cats, patiently waiting for his alone time.  Last night he ate his meow mix, and his epigen, and the rotesserie chicken, and I think he even ate a little of the earthborn, but he covered the earthborn up with the sheet I put in the bottom of the playpen to offer additional cushioning (flannel).  He ate pretty good this morning too.  Smiley  He is sweet, and does the same little mew that bisi does for me.

Bella wants nothing to do with the THING in the playpen.

All is well, so far!  Beau had a supervised visit, and he was a good boy.  Sir Whiskers hid under the bed and hissed a bit, but both behaved in a dignified manner.  I let Beau stay 5 minutes and then hustled him out of the room.

Sir Whiskers had two periods out of the play pen yesterday.  The period in the morning, he was exploring the bedroom pretty thoroughly but didn't jump up on anything.  I let him roam about 1/2 hour before i put him back.  When he realized I was putting him back in the play pen, he bit me.  not hard, just broke the skin.  it's my 2nd bite from him.   Undecided  I poured witch hazel all over it and it is fine.

The afternoon session was longer and went better.  He discovered THE WINDOW!  He investigated every noise he heard from outside, and really enjoyed being able to sit in the window.  When I went to put him back in the play pen, he was much better about it.  Didn't even hiss in irritation.

He ate his kibble, meow mix and epigen mix, and a little bit (very little) of the 95% chicken & chicken Liver.  I hesitate to say he enjoyed it, because he clearly ate only a little bit, but he did eat some.  This morning he got a little bit more and two tablespoons of the kibble mix.  He doesn't eat a lot, and since he is not quite skin and bones, I am concerned about his appetite.  He peed quite a lot yesterday, not so much this morning.  At the shelter, he weighed just over 9 lbs.  too skinny, as I can feel his spine and hip bones quite clearly.  Sad  I also introduced him to freeze dried chicken, which was very well received.   Cheesy

Today, he has the run of the bedroom till I get home.
