Yay! Another "smudgie-nose" to join the Itchmo family Smudge-Nose collection! The resident cats are staging a walkout, you say? Ooooohhhh hissy-pissy time, ah? I'm sure they'll come around and realize the new addition will not impact the food supply a great deal

Cocoa was getting Core when I would give him it as a treat, only a few pieces at a time, but since they changed the shape of the kibble to a pellet, I'm not buying it anymore. I don't like pelleted food because it seems to choke them more and cause them to throw up the food. I got a sample size bag of EVO from the pet store, so I'll be using that as a treat soon. He gets very little of dry, just as an occaisional treat.

BJ made a prison break yesterday and started exploring every nook and crannie of the joint! I did put him back in his "cell" overnight so I could get some sleep and know everybody was safe under lock and key. Bette Davis really has her whiskers a twitchin'. She does not like newcomers. It takes some of the heat off of Cassi!

Cassi may be very glad that you adopted BJ!
How are the others doing with him?

LOL. Now that you mention, Cassi has been running around all over the house this morning playing while Bette is off sulking and skulking. Well, BJ just rewarded me by eating a good portion of his morning CORE and 1.5 ounces of Wellness kitten (our new bribe food plus the seniors like it)

BJ already has the dogs eating out of his paws. He gives them head butts, and they lick his head. He's also very interested when we open the door to the fridge and sits there anticipating something. He follows me around like a puppy dog, but I think he is a cat We're still working on some of his manners, but he is coming along nicely. Surprisingly, he gets along very well with the other cats. They pretty much aren't threatened by him it seems. He's eating mostly wet food.

Yay BJ! You are obviously a very social guy. And eating mostly wet food, too after such a short time! (Cameo, Linley, and Phantom hang their heads in shame. )

What a nice cat BJ is! That's is so sweet that your big dogs are grooming him. I'm glad he found a good home. Thanks!

LOL. Well, he was already good with cats, dogs, and children, so he sounded like a shoe-in if the others would accept him. The foster people did all the work and/or his original owners whoever they may be. This is the first time we've adopted an adult pet. It's only been a couple of days, but I hope this continues.
He's knows not to run, so the dogs don't chase him. He stays very still and quiet when dogs and cats check him out. He is fascinated with the fridge, so somewhere along the line he was getting some treat from the fridge. Milk maybe? Wish he could talk.
He eats the wet. I'm surprised (with his jaw problem). It takes him longer to eat the wet than the dry though, which I find interesting. .Maybe it is tongue coordination. Sometimes he'll stick his little pink tongue out one side of his mouth.
Now, the kittens may not be as easy.

So glad to read that BJ is doing so well. Sounds like he's a very smooth operator, winning over the dogs and even other cats!
