My brother has 4 cats right now, Whizzie, Dice, Pasha, and Phoebe.  His girlfriend has one cat, Sniper.  She lives a distance away so when she visits him, she usually stays for a few days.  Over Thanksgiving she didn't have anyone to petsit Sniper so she took him with her.  I suggested to both of them not to push any introductions, and told them about Feliway, just in case Undecided   (My brother scoffs at my cat care concerns Sad  He always just says "Oh it will be fine".  It drives me crazy when he's right, lol!)

Much to my surprise they all got along although Pasha would growl when Sniper was near, but there were no fights or issues!  They ate and drank from each others dishes and even sniffed noses.

I didn't get very good pictures.  It was a dark room with a stream of sunshine and most of the cats are black, black and white, or white!

This is Dice.  He's a sweetie.

This is Pasha. She's a big-boned girl Wink

This is Phoebe.  She's crazy.  She growls while being petted, while leaning into your hand and then she'll hiss as she walks away. What do you expect, she's a tortie Grin

Sniper, the visitor.  My brother is in the Santa t-shirt, DH is holding Sniper

Geez, mine are littermates and they don't always get along that well! What am I doing wrong?
Beautiful cats - and wouldn't you know it would be a tortie who would hiss and growl during the loving? I have a fluffy, er, big-boned cat like Pasha (and Cassie loves laying like that belly-up, too).

Thanks for sharing their pictures.

Thats so cool that they all behaved.  I can tell you if tortie Sophers was in the mix, things wouldnt have gone well at all.   Grin  Everyone would have had a disastrous day if she had her way.   Cheesy  All the kitties are beautimous.  Dice's eyes are soulful and all knowing, he's a handsome fella.   Kiss

Your brother and girlfriend have a great crew of cats! Dice does have a sweet face! I love Pasha's tummy pic! That's a gorgeous tortie! You caught Sniper's gold eye very well - I always found the gold eyes especially hard to photograph.

It's indeed wonderful how they all get along. You just never know. I had a really harmonious cat group of 5 at one time, but this present group of 3 I have, I don't think they will ever get along. Smiley

Those are great to see. I love Dice's markings. Yeah, when I see stuff like this, I always wonder what I'm doing wrong, too. Maybe it's because we're uptight that they get uptight. I need to relax -- more like your brother.

My little babies, you'll always be in my heart. Mom will see you later. Look after each other, ok?

Aw, such pretty kitties!
But you really shouldn't speak bad about Phoebe; I'm sure she's got her reasons to growl and hiss, cats too probably have bad days with mood swings once in a while, just like us    Cheesy

Wow, Kozy has kool kitty kousins!  Cheesy

They are all completely adorable, and I think Phoebe and Sniper are especially beautiful.

(Just an aside--does Phoebe do the growling/hissing thing when petted even when Sniper isn't around?  And with your brother as well as less familiar people?  If so, I'd wonder about some type of pain issues, or maybe other health problems.  Of course, if she's done it from youth, it's probably just her tortie personality.)

Man, can you imagine how different things would be if you could just take your cat with you wherever you go?

That is fantastic!  And they're all very cute!   Cheesy

I know!  Wouldn't that be great?

Yes, Phoebe has always been difficult.  I will pass your idea on regarding pain issues, but I'm pretty sure he'll just tell me that's just the way she is.  He's not real big on taking his cats to the vet Undecided  He loves and adores them, but as with everything, he says "It will be fine".

My inlaws once had a dog that would growl and wag his tail at the same time. Never knew which end to believe.I bet some cats like Phoebe give mixed signals, too, growling and leaning into your hand at the same time.Maybe it's not a mad growl, but a posessive one telling other cats to stay away from her petting hand. Or... if not  pain, its just because she likes to express herself??Tortitude!
