Eek, hope you heal quickly! It is important to be able to breath well and not shallow. Sending healing thoughts...
Little Haboob seems to be giving the other cats quite a run for their money.....his name is accurate!  Roll Eyes

I went to urgent care last night since the pain was so bad. Got a chest x-ray no obvious breaks but I guess I didn't do enough deep breathing because I have pneumonia. That was a bit of a shock. I'm on antibiotics for the next 5 days.

August, there actually was a guy who came running over to check on me. He was this really tough looking bald Russian man, and after making sure I was ok, he sternly told me to be careful!

I have now introduced Haboob to the spray bottle to keep him in line. It works great since I don't have to move much, just aim and fire! This is especially valuable when Stormy is trying to sleep and he goes after her. I don't even have to get out of bed. I got this great sprayer that shoots all the way across the room!  Cheesy

Oh, how scary, Ned!  That's good that you went to get checked out.  I hope the pneumonia will pass soon.  (That's related to the fall somehow?)

That's nice of that man to run to see if you were all right.  It must have been just awful.  Seriously the thought of it makes me cringe.  At least it sounds like you're having fun with your new spray toy.   Cheesy

Leslie, they told me to do breathing exercises once an hour while I'm awake. I found an app to remind me and that works really well. They didn't give me an inhaler though. The x-ray showed signs that pneumonia was starting so it's not full blown coughing or anything. I think they're using the antibiotics to nip it in the bud. I'm just a little short of breath sometimes but no other symptoms.

August, the doctor said the number one problem with rib injuries is pneumonia because the pain prevents you from taking deep breaths. I thought I was doing enough deep breaths but I guess I wasn't breathing deeply enough. Now that I have pain medicine I can breathe deeper but it still hurts.  Roll Eyes Anyway I'm trying to keep active without irritating the ribs. Scooping the cat box is my workout!  Cheesy I think it will be about a month before I can resume running.

Haboob's incisions are almost healed so we're back to using regular litter (stormy and Smoggy are very happy about this). When I woke up this morning Smoggy was sleeping on my bed in his usual place. I was happy about that! Hopefully this is the start of things settling down.

Wow, I had no idea rib injuries could do that.  It's good to hear things are under control and you've got your cat box workout and reminder app to help.   Cheesy

Also yay to hear that Haboob is healing well, and Smoggy has taken back his bed!   Smiley

Smoggy still not feeling friendly

Haboob enjoys watching NASA science lectures with me  Kiss

He also enjoys destroying things!

I noticed Haboob's breath is really bad so I had a look in his mouth and his adult fangs are coming in. His baby fangs are still there so he has eight fangs! No wonder he's chewing up everything!  Cheesy

Haboob and Smoggy's warning!   Cheesy  Haboob is like, "O....k.....a...y....."   Cheesy  Great photo timing.

I can tell Haboob is bigger in that last photo!  Too funny about how he destroyed the cardboard scratcher part.  Those fangs coming in must hurt!

So cute about watching NASA science lectures  Grin

Leo also had double fangs for a while and he was also chewing on everything. I managed to get the photo of the double fangs and I saved one for memory after it fell out Smiley

I thought I should get a picture too! Haboob wasn't too keen though.

Close up of double fangs!

4:30AM my bed!

Haboob sleeps weird sometimes  Cheesy

He is getting bigger and his favorite thing to do now is jump into my arms or on my back whenever I am close enough.  Shocked This can be a bit of a surprise as you can imagine! He also enjoys snuggling under the covers when I'm reading in bed. He also loves to play fetch!

Haboob's bottom baby fangs have fallen out! He still has the top ones though. He is a pretty smart cat and he has taught me to play fetch (now his favorite game).  Cheesy I have a video but I have to remember how to upload to youtube.   Roll Eyes

Smoggy is still acting hostile even though Haboob is trying so hard to be friends. He wants to snuggle so bad! But Smoggy is having none of it. Haboob has settled down a lot in the last few weeks. He is quite respectful of Smoggy when he growls and hisses - keeping his distance and not continuing to run at him like he did before. I hope Smog will warm up to him in time.

My ribs have healed up pretty well and I had my first run yesterday which went really well - just a twinge or two.
