I had 3 stool cultures done!  One cat came back with an over abundance of c. perf, which is a natural bacteria in the gut.  That's all.  3 PCRs done, and they were all negative for the big nasties.

Angry  Would have been so much easier if someone had picked up a bug.

My cats also had diarrhea all summer. I had to feed them dry only for months. My vet said she had a bunch of cats in with the same thing and that she didn't think it was the food. In any case, eventually I was able to start adding back the wet food at the end of August. They seem fine now.  Huh I'm glad your kitties are doing better too!

Also glad everyone is better. I also had to deal with diarrhoea for all recently, and I am continuing with probiotics for boys since they now get soft poo more easily when they eat different things and they would eat anything and end up eating everyone else's leftovers and girls have different food preferences so they eat too many different things for the same meal (girls are grazers, leave more than half a can for later, but half an hour later its all gone so I have to serve smth else). Probiotics seem to help, although under the circumstances some soft poo is unavoidable.

Ok, finally got a chance to compare ingredients.  The number 1 ingredient that stands out as something that could be a problem is sunflower oil/sunflower seed oil.  Mal-absorption of fat is a huge diarrhea trigger.

Other ingredients that earthborn and cats in the kitchen have in common that are not in canidae are: GuarGum, Magnesium sulfate, Potassium Iodide and Tricalcium Phosphate.

Aside from GuarGum, the others seem to be just different forms of essential metals.

So, two ingredients flagged that more than one of my cats could have issues with:  Sunflower Oil and GuarGum.

Glad you've managed to narrow it down to two ingredients. I don't know about you but I'm getting tired of having to play detective with these food ingredients all the time!

Finally!  I have to do it from a computer, not my phone.   Smiley

Introducing CorLeone!  He joined my family this fall.  He is Beau's Great Great Grand-Nephew.  <3  He is now 7 months old, and will be 8 months old on December 20th.

merrihart,
Congratulations!  Unfortunately, we can't see your picture due to Photobucket's change regarding having to pay for their service.  We were given that sad news a few months ago by someone else.  All pictures that were previously on this site from Photobucket are now GONE!  Very sad!  However, I still send good wishes and hope that CorLeone will get along with your other kitties. What an unusual name!  Is there a story behind that unusual name?  Maybe you can find another way to post pictures without having to pay for Photobucket.  I don't know if others have found another way or not, but we haven't had many pictures posted lately except by Alek.

Darn it.  Is there no way to get a picture anymore?

Apparently, he named himself.  I didn't even remember where the name came from till a friend asked me why he was named for a gangster.  Lol

Seems this is the only way.

Ned, I haven't been able to see your pictures in a long time Sad  I couldn't see Alek's in ages, and then hers came back and yours disappeared.

We need to find an easier way to be able to post photos...

Cor's super cute!  Is it the photo or does he have cute short legs?
