I have pics I must upload of the kitties.  Coming soon!

Meanwhile...  Angry

Beau pee'd on the bed this morning.  First time in at least a month.  I know he's not feeling well, it sounds like he's congested, so I don't know if that is part of it.  We have a vet appt with Dr. Hess on Monday.  He hates Rau II, where I have taken him before, so we're trying Dr. Hess.  Bump is still there on his back.  Some days it feels very small, other days it feels like a superball (if you remember those balls that came in gum machines).  I'm anxious to hear what she says.  I can't help wondering if it's related to his formation of ammonia urate crystals, even though it's on his back.

Both the kittens got baths last night, and their claws clipped.  Bisi has started growling when I do her nails which she never did before.  Undecided  But she really does love me and forgives me quite soon.

Bella watched the whole 3 ring circus of clipping, baths, and drying off, silenly laughing up her sleeve.  Tongue

Oh boy, pee on the bed brings back memories.   Undecided    I feel for you.  Poor Beau, I hope he feels better soon.  I know a lot has been going on for you guys.

Sending hugs and looking forward to seeing more photos!

Merrihart,
I am wondering why it is necessary to bathe the kittens.  Especially if Beau sounds congested, and doesn't seem to feel well, perhaps that is not best.  JMO.

I hope Beau feels better soon.

Spartycats, I didn't notice him being congested before the middle of the night. Sad  He sounded fine last night/yesterday morning.  He got a bath because he is being shown tomorrow.  It is too late to cancel that.  Undecided  I don't think it's a virus.  No sneezing or coughing going on, but his right eye had a bit of white goup in it, which I have never seen before, so I thought he had gotten something in his eye.  I heard his breathing in the wee hours of the morning when he crawled into bed with me.  Sad

Oh, I see, Merrihart.
You can't cancel showing him, if he isn't feeling too well?
I hope he feels better today, and that the show is not too far away for you.

I can canel if he's not feeling well or is contagious (but I can't get my money back), but other than listening to him breathe and his peeing on my bed, which may be unrelated, as he tends to pee on my bed when his bladder hurts (crystal/stone formation) he shows no sign of not feeling well.  He's active, hungry and wants to play.  Which is confusing to me...is he peeing on my bed while I sleep (and therefore peeing on me) because his tummy hurts or because he's trying to dominate me?  Is his breathing due to a virus/cold or something else?  If it is, he has had several colds this year.

You might recall I had a couple incidents when Bisi was a bit younger than Beau is now, where Bisi pee'd on my back pack/purse.  I finally gave her a time out for it and she never did it again.  There was no reason other than her trying to dominate me (easy enough for her to do! I'm such a stupid mommy) and no harm done as the backpack was water resistant.

My "comforter" is also water resistant, a sleeping bag just unzipped to allow it to cover the bed.  So, my reaction is not more than "Oh, Beau!" and chase him off the bed and to clean up and wash the sleeping bag.  I'm wondering if I have to take other measures.

These cats are smarter than me  Huh

I'm sorry to hear about Beau.  His congestion and eye crud sounds quite similar to Fizzy's herpes episodes.  Several colds a year, congestion, and white eye discharge.  The feline herpes virus is Highly contagious.  He shouldn't be around other uninfected cats, i.e. the cat show.  Just say goodbye to the entry fee and chalk it up as a show-cat expense.

Maybe the peeing is from the discomfort of the herpes?

Oh lord, I hope it's not that!  Getting gray hairs just thinking bout it.

So I called Dr. Hess's office and I'm waiting to hear from her now.

What did your vet say?  I should have suggested that you ask her about giving Beau L-lysine.  It does help control the herpes outbreaks and severity.

She said she would need to see him, of course, which I knew.  I can give him some decongestant, but I don't know what kind to use.  She said, but my phone is dying and I had the maintenance man in front of me and the washer and dryer going...too many distractions.  But he doesn't sound congested to me now, but she said it sounded like he was.

Guess I took the day off for nothing tomorrow.  We'll have to stay home.   Undecided

Poor Beau!  I was going to ask about L-lysine, too.  I hope he will be feeling better very soon.

Grumpy Bella

I don't actually know which one this is...

I think it's Beau, but...in this light, it looks like Bisi

Perfect picture of Beau
