Cheesy  I've heard of cats having several restaurants in the neighborhood.  Apparently even dogs would do this if they could like that chubby little Chi mix that ran into my house a few days ago.

Catbird, Phantom knew what she was doing!

Wow . He is gorgeous. I really hope he has a home. I hate not knowing when I see an animal roaming. Even if they are well fed, we wonder where thier home is . Dinner must have smelled pretty good for him to come that close.

Good to see you back, pygmypets!  Yes, this is a cat that must love lamb.  He stayed away for a few days after the trauma of seeing me in the doorway when he thought the coast was clear.  He does look well fed.  A lot of the people around here do let their cats roam.

I am sad when folks let them roam.  My neighbor allowed that, only for the cat to dissapear (the cat has returned, or a look alike, because he looks liike my Siberia - but seems fearful).  The neighbor appears oblivious.

The apartment complex had declared indoor only cats - because they get on the hoods and convertible soft roofs, and scratch them up.  An expensive Chrysler got the treatment (my downsttairs neighbors, whom have since moved, it was my neighbor's cat - but I didn't tell anyone).

Non- roaming kitties mean little need for repeat vaccines, rabies.  Indoor kitties don't get hurt from kitty fights, they don't get snatched (that's how I got Jimmy), etc.

I caught him hanging out on the back porch so decided to go ahead and give him that Fromm salmon.  That stuff smells and looks great!  I'll have to review it.  I could tell Détente was interested when I opened it.  He turned his head in the direction of the back door and flattened his ears and looked very predatory.  He really looks just like a little black panther.  Cheesy

I tried to ignore him as I walked out onto the deck with the food while he decided to move down to the ground.  I played it like I put the food on the side of the house for my own purpose, rather than for him.  He watched from under a bush.  The after I went inside, he must of 'stolen' over half of it.

I retrieved what was left in half an hour and haven't seen him since.  As good of a hunter as he is, I'm concerned about getting too cozy with him since he might decide to get rid of the competition. (Poco)

Poco smelled the food and was waiting for me in the kitchen with a perturbed look on his face as I walked back in after putting it out.

Where'd you put that salmon?

Oh, I love the pictures of both the black cat and Poco. I'm glad You fed Him, just in case. He might look fat because of worms? does his belly look too fat?

3K, Klondike, 3K.  But I guess you just get to feed the kitty.   Grin  A very handsome one BTW.

Poor Poco.  I can see that his nose was a bit out of joint.

oh prescious!  Detante looks like he is "casing the joint" and Poco's expression seems to say, "I've never seen this side of you before and I am suspicious of it!"  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Oh man, is that cat gorgeous or what!?! "Unattended salmon" probably moves your house to the top of his list (gulp). You know, that list cats make when they are considering new property acquisitions..... I can understand Poco's concern! (But I'm glad you fed this kitty who may need a meal.) Great picture of Poco, he is sooooo cute!

"Unattended salmon"  Love that!  Cheesy

One reason I was hesitant to feed him and tried to disguise my intent is that I don't want to get him dependent.  And the ruse appeared to have worked because he didn't seem to be hanging around anymore that usual.  But yesterday I opened some blinds on the side of the house where I had fed him and happened to look down....and there he was, wating for more salmon.

Klondike- that never works ! They always know who puts food out for them & they come back ! Just keep buying extra salmon, looks like you have an outside kitty.

I got another can of Fromm flaked salmon today.  That stuff is expensive!  No wonder it smells and looks so tasty.  I'll share a little with Poco this time.  He can't eat much salmon, but a bite is O.K.

I also got a can of Tiki Cat sardine and mackeral.  That was only .99 and is smaller so he'll eat it all, (if he likes it.)  The bad thing about doing this is that cats will refuse food, so I hope he is still eating his food at home.  It's possible he was just hunting when I saw him, since there is a big ivy patch there with snakes and rodents in it.

He's so sleek, as though he is healthy. Makes it really hard to tell if he does have a home. It could be all those wild-caught rodents with the natural taurine! In this photo his eyes look like they might be green.
