Pet Pals of Texas provides volunteer assistance to people with disabilities and terminal illnesses who need help
with the care of their pets. At the present time, we provide services to people who are living in Bexar, Comal,
Guadalupe, and Kendall Counties. All individuals who are requesting help must complete an application packet
and have written documentation of their illness or disability. Those who wish to receive financial assistance for
veterinary expenses or food and supplies must show additional proof of low-income such as SSI/SSDI, Medicaid,
Food Stamps, etc.

Additionally, Pet Pals of Texas will deliver food and supplies, when donations are available, and provide
assistance with vet expenses when funding is available.

Perhaps the most important program of our organization is the  In-Home Pet Care Support Program whereby our
volunteers make regularly scheduled visits to the homes of our participants and provide the following pet care
related services:

Walking Dogs

Cleaning Litter Boxes

Small Animal Cage Cleaning

Aquarium Maintenance

Administering Medications

Light Grooming

Transporting Pets

Thanks to generous donors, grants for SPAY/NEUTERING OF A CAT OR DOG are available to residents who need help covering the cost of surgery. All applicants must be a resident of Texas. A copy of proof of residency (driver's license, photo ID, utility bill, etc.) must be included with the appropriate application.

http://www.spayneuternet.org/available-programs/index.php

Disadvantaged Residents
Requires some type of government assistance program. Examples include CHIP, WIC, Medicare, Medicaid, Unemployment, public housing, etc. Proof of such government assistance is required.

Multiple Pet Owners
Requires that the owner bring three or more animals from the same household for surgery on the same day. The owner will be responsible for the cost of the first two surgeries, and all additional surgeries will be covered under the grant. The covered surgeries must be performed on the same day in order to qualify. If the owner needs assistance in paying for the first two surgeries, they should inquire about additional grant opportunities.

Feral Cats
Requires that the cat be feral, trapped in a humane trap and then brought to the clinic. Friendly neighborhood cats, barn cats or your owned cats do not qualify. Feral cats are accepted Monday and Tuesday between 7 -8 am. No appointments are taken.

Dogs Over 39.9 Pounds
Requires that the dog weigh over 39.9 lbs at the time of surgery or be a breed that will mature to over 39.9 lbs. The owner is asked to make a small co-pay toward the cost of the surgery if they are able to do so.

Spay-Neuter Subsidy Program
DAS offers free spay and neuter services for pets owned by qualified, low-income Dallas residents. Most applicants will be approved for the program if they currently receive public assistance, such as food stamps or Medicaid. Low-income pet owners not receiving public assistance may still qualify for the program and are encouraged to apply.

To participate in the program, pet owners can obtain an application by downloading it at this page or by contacting Dallas Animal Services.  Approved applicants are notified by City staff and provided a list of 10 participating animal clinics to acquire spay/neuter services.

When the spay-neuter surgery is performed, basic immunizations needed at that time are also provided free of charge. The City will reimburse participating veterinarians for their services.

Humane Society of North Texas

Fort Worth, TX 76103

Spay & Neuter Program
Preventing the births of unwanted puppies and kittens is one of our most important programs. HSNT requires spaying and neutering of all animals adopted from our shelter. Our Spay/Neuter Assistance Program helps hundreds of pet owners who cannot afford the conventional surgical cost. Our program is available for qualified low-income and senior-citizen pet owners. Our resources are limited; therefore, there is a waiting period for this program. To see if you qualify for this program,

please click here to download and print it off
http://www.hsnt.org/documents/VoucherApplication.doc

or fill it out online here. http://www.hsnt.org/voucherapp.php

We will spay/neuter the parent of any litter released to HSNT for free regardless of your income.

On the first and last Tuesday of every month we provide a Trap-Neuter-Return program for feral cats. For more information on this program please call 817-332-4768 *112.
