We made another server change... we're hoping it will help overall system performance a little.

Unfortunately, work is kicking my butt this week... I have so many issues at work that I can't keep up with that trying to keep up with itchmo is proving to be difficult...

This new system is really crappy! Tongue

Sorry, but I really hate that ugly bold type on all the posts and now your site is loading extremely slow on my Mac. Angry This is not fun. I wish it could go back the way it was.

Actually, the bold is not related to the new system in any way because the forums were on the new system since day 1.  In fact, the reason itchmo was moved to the new system was because the forums were running ok.   So the bold is unrelated... but equally puzzling...

I don't have that problem which makes me wonder if it's related to your browser... you haven't changed any font settings or anything have you?  What browser are you using anyway?

I see it in bold too.  Hurts my eyes.  This has only been going on for a few weeks only. I have to make the text medium size now.

I am not seeing the bold with Firefox, only with IE.

I was wondering why I didn't see the bothersome bold text people were complaining about.  Firefox is my browser.

That is so strange.Huh I have Macintosh Safari and the bold type is deafening! I don't have this problem on other blogs. Also it takes a full 1/2 minute to load the page when I want to reply. UGH! Angry

I'm on IE6 & it's been bold for weeks.  I bolded some text yesterday & of course it didn't look any different to me after I posted!  It is very distracting.  I've managed to get used to it but it's kind of hard on the eyes.  I posted somewhere the day it happened, will try to find it & let you know.  Maybe you can trace back to that.

It started on July 2 for me, there was some Asian/Australian computer slow down going on at that time that we were discussing:

Like Cynthia, I'm also having the half minute wait when I hit the post button.

Filbert, I am experiencing the same problems - like petslave I am browsing with IE6, IE7 sucks (in my opinion)!  Monday, the 10th of July was not a bad day, however, today July 12th, is reminiscent of a couple weeks ago.

The slowness is BACK, as is the BOLD and today's post did not show up as being posted until I completely left the forum category, as the "post" option did not physically show the post as posted - I hope that makes sense!  However, random dude, fetching does not seem to be a problem anymore, unless it is a rather long post.

Your assistance, as always, is APPRECIATED!

Sincerely,
Donna

db--thanks a lot mr. smarty pants!  Guess I should be happy it's in bold since I'm 'of that age' to need reading glasses!

Response time seems real variable for me also--past few days it's been slow & I have to baby along my posts to make sure they don't get lost, but there were a few good days before that where it was actually acting normal  (kind of like having a CRF website).

OK as long as we are all chiming in, I am on a 1.5mg dsl, very fast connection. The pages here take at least 30 seconds to load if they load at all. I am using Firefox, so I don't get the bold but it is very slow.

I tried the history deleting thing with no results. I'm on cable and it's intermittently very slow.
