Just got a spam e-mail disguised as a personal message from an Itchmo forum member. I deleted it without fully reading it, but it appeared to be a version of the "Nigerian" scam. My spam filter didn't pick it up so I thought it might be a real message before I opened it.
I suggest that you delete it before opening it.

You need to go into your profile and block your email. I can see your email.
There was just a "newbie" here who registered and then proceeded to check "forum stats" and then proceeded straight to Membership lists. I've observed this quite often. maybe innocent, maybe not. maybe looking for emails.
I've reported this. Thanks for letting us know r4man.

Hide your email addresses, can't say this enough times, the advantage of forums is that there isn't any spam, HOWEVER if you allow you email address to be read then you are inviting spam emails.
Thank you to JustMe for scanning the new users and catching this. Lots of newbies do this and it has always made many of us here very suspicious

I didn't turn off e-mail verification for new members but it looks like someone did... I assume it was done for a reason so I'm not going to change it.

I believe it is actually 5 posts to become a Jr Member, around 60 for a Full Member, 150 Sr Member and 550 to become an Old Fart. |

OK, I just did a quick count and believe it or not, over 1200 members are newbies, most with zero posts, thats right folks, over 40 pages of newbies most with zero posts. So why does someone register and never post??, they can't all be spammers, maybe they want to belong??
Anyway that means that only a small percentage (around 400 members) or 25% of the members are contributing all the posts, hmmmmmmmmmmm
