Sorry, but I haven't seen any slanderous remarks. It seems to me that by the time I can check them, the authors have changed their remarks... They may make comments and opinions you disagree with, but that doesn't necessarily make them slanderous. You reported a specific post that had nothing slanderous when I saw it. But now that you've given some names I can take a look at what's been posted throughout a thread and make a better judgement.
Regarding Steve, while he has said some racey things, I don't think I would consider anything he has posted to be slanderous or worth deleting, even though i don't agree with some of them. I have not been following the thread so the more details you can provide in your complaints the better I can make a judgement call. Simply saying, "THIS FORUM IS DISGUSTING!" does not help me identify the problem.
for the record, i have only deleted once in my remarks and i noted it when i deleted the comment (but it may still be in the quotes?). my other edited posts were additions or grammar/spelling type of edits (crappy non typist here!) I do find it interesting though, especially after all that's happened with the pet/people food situation, that i should be called out for trying to warn of possible misinformation/disagree with a pet food president for saying feeding dry KumpiKat only is a perfectly fine *safe* diet for felines and canned food is dangerous. And for trying to get the same person to cough up the background of this mysterious "nutritionist" who all of her *claims of best food* are based on, along with asking for supporting data. Why would people want to buy into a new food based on nothing other than the company owner saying "trust me" is beyond me, but if it's a problem for Itchmo, I'll certainly zip it and move on.

One more thought. This forum has "The Ring" where these problems can be worked out...so take this to the Ring, and if you want to 'have it out' with someone...take it to the Ring. This thread doesn't belong here. And then you all can bash each other to pieces.

I have a few thoughts and insight for some of you as well.
Here's who I am and what I'm sure of .... raised in the country, lived my entire adult life in the city, been an animal advocate since I could speak even though I was raised on a farm; sure that I can out-gun any gunslingers on this site but glad I've never had to use that skill; sure that I can curse better than anyone here; sure that if I find someone torturing and abusing animals they will eventually pay the price whether financially or by public humiliation; sure that I can use my brains to make a decent living and support all the furry friends that I possibly can; sure that I'm as tough as nails; BUT......
Sure that I think before I speak or write even if I'm in a hurry and stressed Sure that I do everything to show the people around me at home, work, friends and strangers what kindness and gentleness means Sure that my entire life and every decision I make and everything I communicate takes the furry ones in need of help into account Sure that my philosophy must work because I've never, ever had anyone tell me they were offended at my beliefs or my communication of them
SURE THAT THE EXAMPLE OF GENTLENESS AND KINDNESS I SET IS MAKING A DIFFERENCE WHEN PEOPLE THINK OF "ONE OF THOSE WACKY ANIMAL-LOVERS"
AND MOST OF ALL, ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT-A-DOUBT SURE THAT I AM RIGHT
Don't call me a kid, don't make references to Romper Room or whatever else wise-ass language you folks feel the need to throw out there. I came here because I'm from the narrow-minded south and had hoped to find some like-minded people out there. Unfortunately I'm not able to find many true furry/people friends here. I haven't found them on itchmo either.
When you can tell me that you make good money yet live poorly so that you and your husband can spend 60 percent (yes, I said 60 percent) on your commitment to animals and that you are damn sure that the perception you give to other animal-lovers is kind and gentle then I'm interested in communicating with you.
Otherwise, I'm simply a better animal advocate and human being than you are....

So are we now going to have Itchmo Policemembers? That will cause other members to be afraid to pose certain questions to those who might have answers? Or not be allowed to disagree and/or debate issues with guests or members? Taking it to "The Ring" is an idea, but the posts will still be visible and some may still be offended or complain. There was no "agenda" and I believe the Kumpi controversy has for the most part come to a close. If it has not, then just don't visit there. "Just Sayin." P.S. No one in the "clique" ever used profanity.

eh, i was talking about moving on from Kumpi, unless of course asked . . . I guess to stay out of clique status, one must not address another poster, but a general being. it may help establish that these are our views/comments and we aren't ganging up/clique-ing/etc *self edits lovely little snark that belongs here*

See now this really belongs in the RING. There you can have at each other as much as you want. I will even provide the cushioned bats. Filbert, maybe you could move this to the RING. Thanks db

I used to think that anyone doing anything weird was weird. I suddenly realized that anyone doing anything weird wasn't weird at all and it was the people saying they were weird that were weird.

Don't leave straybaby!
I valve everyone's opinion. I believe we are all on the same level of caring for our pets and no one's better than anyone. We all have good and bad, we're human.
We have lots of people reading and posting here. We are learning nutrition for our pets. We need other opinions so we can make an informed decision on what to feed our pets.
We should hear different opinions on pet nutrition like wet versus dry. I feed both wet and dry food to my cats. In my opinion, feeding both wet and dry food is good for my cats.

Since this has been brought to our attention, I think we can close this discussion and if anyone wants to continue debating the hot points, you can start your own thread in The Ring.
I finally got a chance to read through the entire thread in question and yes there are some people who made awefully bold leaps to connect names and companies. It does border on the edge of libel since much of it is speculation but I think people were just getting a bit trigger happy with google.
I understand that sometimes people find connections and post them without much thought. And sometimes people ask provocative questions just to rile people up and entertain themselves. I'll even admit that I do it sometimes. I'll defend a position I know is wrong just to see what people do and in most cases people resort to name calling or stomping away in frustration before they can explain themselves.
Honestly, I don't think many of the people who think they are in the "right" handled it very well either. Why do you need an admin to tell other people to play nice? I have seen people respond and rebutt, but I haven't seen many polite requests to calm things down and reign in the speculation. If you can't remain calm and level headed while defending your point, then you've already lost.
I think everyone should just take a step back, take a deep breath and vow not to let silly internet discussions ruin your day. And if you disagree with me... well then perhaps you all can be united by your mutual dislike of me.
