Hi, has anyone noticed the new front page layout? What Im really concerned about is I see no button that people can click on to go to the forums. While the "oldtimers" know to just type in itchmoforums.com, any newcomers wouldnt know that and will pass on by.....will a forum button be added to the new front page layout? Pretty please?  |

Uh oh, look at the link at the bottom of the home page, "Dave's", has some chinese characters and "the eternal question: sex with your clone, incest, homosexuality or maturbation?" Does anyone else see this??

Phew---I thought my eyes weren't working (I mean my glasses)--I added a link here to the most recent story--until we hear back!   and yes I was one that did not know for months to come here without hitting that button---boy have I come a ways--I even know what url is now!  |

I saw the link Nabiya referred to but did not click on it--too suspicious IMO. There is a weird link at the top, too, a red box. Don't click on it, anyone!

It looks as though Itchmo's main site has been moved over to Wordpress (a free service). Dave's blog has Japanese characters as the title and a Kanji link. He apparently has spent time in Japan but is now working in France. I'm guessing that Spam Karma is his product. The red box is rather strange and geeky and my guess is that Dave is rather geeky. Filbert should be able to set us straight about the new setup.
Don't know why they wouldn't just use Wordpress' Akismet anti-spam.

Don't know why they wouldn't just use Wordpress' Akismet anti-spam.
That's what I am wondering too, and think it is better to be safe than sorry. |

I just PM'd Filbert to get a confirmation that everything is legit. I actually like the new layout but a forum link would be good. Here are some Wordpress threads re: Spam Karma which looks like a legit plugin. The following link is safe; it just goes to search results on Wordpress: http://en.search.wordpress.com/?q=Spam+KarmaBloggers who have installed the plugin seem happy with it; they were apparently getting a high volume of spam with Akismet. Also, Matt (who is one of the chief techies at Wordpress) has written this endorsement of Spam Karma and Dave's work (also a safe link to follow): http://blog.akismet.com/2006/01/30/spam-karma-state/ |

Dave's blog has some quotes at the top, most are benign, some are down right disgusting though, using the F word all over the place....
And if itchmo was moved to wordpress then there was a DNS change which would explain why some members were locked out.

Im not seeing any red buttons or Chinese characters or sex-type talk either.....  Im thinking thats a good thing? Nabiya, DH wants to know what brand of coffee you drink, he wants to go buy some. Just kidding really though Seriously, why would some be seeing this weird stuff and not others? |
