whilst pet foods have improved somewhat over the years  it is always better to prephare their food yourself, i say dont give your pet that which you would not eat yourself is a top rule of thumb, 30 + years of cat rescue,an at peak 75 cats in my care,it was actualy cheeper to buy chicken/fish an pressure cook it than buy tin food which for the most part, with the exception of a very select costly few, is discusting stuff from nr rotting carcasses. for any advice re feeding from kitt to 20 year old or any question on anything relative to cat/dog feel free to contact em or go to www.flicker.com/photos/whatwhenwhere/yes fish is relativly expensive go to your local merchant or fish an chipp shop, ask for the offcutts at fraction of cost /live near the sea pop down to the fishing boats when they come in/often setting up stalls/contact the local fishing tackel shop  make inquiries/ask to put up an add for unwanted fish /or perchase of ...usualy pressuer cooking totaly breaks down bone,to crumbel [though always check] in chick an fish, thus giving esential bone meal excption meat bone/ long hair cats need additional oily fish , etc ...etc...
