I hope it's okay to post this here. I have been volunteering for the last couple of year coordinating photographers for our local shelter as well as taking photos myself. I post my photos on my Facebook page to help share them. I hoped I could post the link to the page here as well. I think you should be able to view it without having to have a Facebook account.

Loved looked at all of your beautiful kitty photos, shadowmice!  How wonderful of you to give your time doing this for the shelter!  I hope lots of the cats find their way to a forever home due to your efforts.  My brother is a dog person (he does also have a cat).  He has always had Bassett Hounds, and he volunteers for a local Bassett Rescue to take pictures that they use to attract people to adopt.  He recently fell in love with one himself and first fostered, then ended up adopting after just 2 weeks!  The dog he already had and his new dog get along really well!  If I did what you do, I would probably want to bring all of them home!   Wink

Photos are beautiful. I hope all of those precious cats and kittens are in good, forever homes very soon. Pictures are so important when trying to find homes (or to reunite lost pets). Bless your heart for giving your time to help them.

They are all adorable & your photo's are great ! I hope this helps all of them find homes . I'm like Mandycat , I would need a much bigger house because I'd be bringing them all home . It breaks my heart to see them, all when I take in donations .

Shadowmice, not only are the photos beautiful, but you are to be commended for doing this wonderful work for the shelter. (And it's a good thing I don't live close to where you are, or I'd be walking out the door of that shelter with Jemma.)

Of course it is okay to post your picture links here, Shadowmice.  What beautiful cats and dog.  You are really doing a wonderful job helping these shelter pets find homes. What an impression those pictures make.

Shadowmice, you give these little guys a much greater chance for finding that forever home.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart!  The pics are just fantastic.  You really have the talent!

So many kitties needing homes! I hope all get adopted. It is so nice of you to volunteer your time to help these kitties.

Wonderful pictures, shadowmice. You've managed to capture their expressions so perfectly that I feel their personalities show through the photographs.

Thanks for all the compliments everyone. It took awhile and a lot of photos to start to figure out the best techniques for the photography within the context of the shelter; there's not always the best light or backgrounds but I've been feeling much happier with my results lately.  I find it very rewarding anyhow because even if I can't get a good photo for someone, I've been able to spend a little bit of time giving them some attention and maybe helping them socialize a little more.

I have to admit I did adopt Bear and then Kermit not too long after starting to volunteer there. But I just know Trevor would never forgive me if I dared to bring anyone else home so that helps calm the urge. But especially with the older ones it's harder since you know they will have to wait so much longer to get a home typically.

It makes me feel happy to know that the photos are helping to show their individual personalities. I really want to show them in a positive light so people will be able to picture them in their own homes as the beautiful animals they are.

I did add a few new pictures last night of a few more. I still have some kitten pictures as well but they are not officially available for adoption yet so I will wait until they are before posting.
