Area shelters are getting many dumpoffs, the in vogue mixes.

I have been involved with rescues and shelters for over  15 years, I am still incensed at the stupidity, whim purchasing of puppies.

We have a puppy now, a mix, pet store, she is from Tennessee, we cannot trace the microchip as the purchaser did not register her.  I cannot fathom , and I assume they did charging a puppy at a pet store, then, a few months later dumping it off.

Many of these mixes so called hybrids are showing some of the genetic pre dispositions , but, at a much earlier age, and temperment issues.

Obviously you have much more respect and value for people than I do. We have been involved in rescue for over 25 years, seen all kinds of idiocy like you describe. People spend big bucks on a dog and then 3 months later toss them out, got 3 here for exactly that reason. One was in a kill shelter last year and they called the local rescue people who scanned her, found the breeder who called us. She was less than a year old and had been through 3 homes.HuhHuhHuhHuh

I used to think that anyone doing anything weird was weird. I suddenly realized that anyone doing anything weird wasn't weird at all and it was the people saying they were weird that were weird.

Hi, I do not hav e much respect left.  This is why, I am at the shelter by  5 a.m., clean, feed, do meds if needed.  That is it, I am out.

I opened my mouth way too much, when, I stopped working as a Nurse, and was a shelter manager, no pay for  5 years.  I made waves, and, too many on the
Advisory Committee for the shelter, as I was, were in fear, of perhaps not being re elected to some city position , due to my being up front with the population of Taunton, Mass.
