Awww, the poor guy looks like he had a bit of a rough time before you rescued him. Of course you did the right thing in saving him!

Awww, poor baby!  Thanks for sharing his picture.  I am happy to hear that he is now safe.  You absolutely did the right thing!   Smiley

What a beautiful boy - who looks like he has had a rough go of it. Bless you for taking care of him and ensuring that his life will be much better from now on. If I were in a different situation I'd take him in a heartbeat! He looks like a sweetheart - hopefully someone will fall in love with him and take him home.

He's beautiful, but looks a little battle scarred. Hopefully his fighting days are over & he will have a peaceful happy life.

Aw, poor little gnarly boy.  He does look like all he wants is to love up on some nice human for the rest of his life.  Blessings to you for caring about him & finding him a shelter where he will have food, warmth and a nice bed.  I hope someone falls in love with him soon and takes him home for good.

I don't think I will ever understand how anyone could just move away and leave a "family member" behind.   Huh

This was actually taken after he had healed up a bit and was looking better. When he first started coming around a couple months ago, he had large open raw wounds and he had bald spots and clumpy fur. His fangs were also all broken off.  Huh
I used antibiotic ointment to cover his wounds and began combing him, which he loved. I also started feeding he some good canned foods. His fur was growing back and was becoming much softer.
The strange thing is that he showed no aggression towards my other cats at all. I think the poor thing was just having to defend himself against who knows what kinds of critters that might have been living in that old house.

Mandycat, I totally agree with you about how anyone could just up and leave a pet behind to fend for itself with no other thought about it. And it always seems like those pets are the most loving and loyal of them all. That's probably why he returned night after night back to his house, the only "home" he knew.

We've had high winds and storms the past several days and I am glad that he is now indoors and safe, warm and dry.

Snowshoes, was he already neutered?  At first I thought maybe he was a tomcat from your descriptions.  He has a sweet face.

snowshoes what a great thing to have found a place for this kitty. Bears a resemblance to one of our members kitties who is at the bridge......

JustMe, no he was not neutered, but he will get neutered at the shelter.
