Hello I am Katy and I am new to this forum. I am not going to dress this up for you. I found a house in the country that has abandoned cats. They are hunger struck. I try to go over there every few days to feed them but they need a good home. They are constantly looking for their next meal. There are about ten of them and most of them are very friendly. There are long hair and short haired kitties. I usually stay a llittle while after i feed them and i come up to them and they let met pet them. They are very loving and are in desperate need of your help. They are disappearing quickly because they are dying of hunger. I want to try and stop this but the place where i stay doesnt let me have pets. So, anyone who is out there please take a kitty. Spread the word. That is all i ask of you.  Sad

Please continue to feed them and love them as long as you can. Where are you? We might be able to get someone to help you. Are there rescue groups or no kill shelters in the area? You cannot continue to do this alone. Please get us more information as soon as possible.

the house was definately lived in. when you walk in you can tell that the cats have totally taken over it though. the smell is horrific. there are dishes left in the sink pictures on the wall, computer, tv. everything but it is all in a huge mess.

Is there anyway to find out who the owner was/is?  I'm just hoping that no one passed away and these cats belonged to the deceased?

Katie where are the authorities in this?  How are you able to walk into a house with stuff in it?  Do you know where the people went?  Were they arrested or did someone die?  Is there any shelters near by or better yet rescue groups?  Do you live close?

I know that's a lot of questions but someone has to know something.  Even in rural areas houses are not just abandoned.

Please try to keep feeding them.

I jumped through a lot of hoops but i found the person who lives there/owner. He left on a trip for a few weeks and when he came back, his house was taken over by the cats  because he didnt find anyone to feed them while he was away. Instead of cleaning it up, he is living somewhere else. He doesnt want to deal with the situation. I spoke to him about the trouble he could be in and made an agreement that i wouldnt turn him in. He said that I could find them homes. He refused to agree that i take them to a shelter. He wants to make sure that they go to a good home and not a shelter. I dont know what to do. Any home is better than no home. But in order to stay on his good side, I will cooperate with him for the interst of that cats. I am doing this for the cats, i dont want them to have to suffer any longer. They love attention and to be pet. I could spend hours over there just petting them and they wouldnt get tired of it.  Cry

Bless your heart, Katy.  You're doing a wonderful thing.  I know we all wish
we could do something to help.  Just know that our thoughts and admiration
are with you.  Good luck.

This guy sounds like a real . . . jerk. Will he agree to you working with rescue groups/no kills to find these cats a home? How many are you dealing with? Do they need medical care? Are they neutered? Yikes, I hope you can find a way to get them out of there and into good homes. Don't give up!
I don't understand . . . a few of them today.

A few of them today.

Does this mean that you found homes for a few of them?

If I were you, the first thing I would do is call TNR. They will at least get them fixed and give them shots.
Then you can start looking for homes for them.
