That is great news about the Chi's! The hubby will be very happy to hear that, too. It can be easier to place small dogs, but they also are given up a lot by older people that can't care for them anymore due to their own health problems. That's how we got Poco. Now I just hope that the white kitten will find a home. Such a beauty!

Great News Alert All the pets on this site that I took pics of have been adopted. Klondike took some of the pictures and put them up on another site [thank god] and a lady came all the way from IL. to get the 2 Chis. While there they also took home a jack russel , a Min pin with 3 legs and an older dog who really needed a home. This is so amazing. I want to thank Klondike for all she did to help these pets. This woman runs a santuary for dogs, I think. Klondike will tell some of the info I don't have on this place, but bless their hearts. I want to help them with some gas money. They also gave the shelter some money while they were there. Isn't it funny how this all came about? I went to rescue the bengal kittens and just took some pictures. And the ending is beyond what I expected. I called the shelter yesterday, and the white kitty has a home. so everyone is safe. I feel great about this. but I couldn't have done it without Klondike. Thanks.

That is so amazing! I am so happy that they all have homes (plus a few more). I wish there were more ways to reach all the folks who are doing this kind of work.
Thanks for the very good news!! catmom5

Such good news, Trudy! You and Klondike have done a world of good here! Thanks also goes to all the people who helped, those at your local shelter and those who drove to pick up the animals.

This is really good news! Thanks to all who work so hard to give animals homes--those we know about, like Trudy and Klondike and catmom5, and those who just go on working without being known.

I'm delighted about the rescues and in awe of the lady from Heaven's Gate Senior Pet Sanctuary in Chester, IL, who drove halfway across the country to rescue the Chi's and also got the 'bonus' dogs from the shelter near Trudy. I didn't do anything but connect some real heroes to each other.
I've never done shelter or rescue work like Trudy and the others so was glad to play a small role in helping out. Maybe this was a little miracle to encourage us all.
If I hear anymore, I'll let you know. I'd like to donate to the Senior Sanctuary, but at this point have no information on how or whether that is possible.

That's right, Arlo is a shelter warrior! I thought of Petslave, too. I think she has done a lot of work in that area and has given a good home to many cats and dogs. (You, too, Justme.)
