No kidding, arghh. If your write to your representatives, all you get back is
pages of BS that lists all these food and import safety bills, 99.9 percent of which are
sitting in various committees to die quiet deaths with nothing done. Does
Congress really think the consumer is that stupid after the recalls of 2007?
It's cheaper to make the unsafe profitable products and pay the meaningless
fines that lobbyists for manufacturers, importers and processors make sure
are totally meaningless in relation to the crimes. The whole philosophy in
Washington, D.C., is caveat emptor, and this consumer is fed up beyond measure.
