Thank you so much, Jan.  If this is the toy they are talking about, we have these for our dogs, have used them for years.  The last one we bought late 2011, the dogs haven't played with it, but the cats like to knead it.

I'm not sure you should even let the cats near it..........or keep it in the house where one of them, either cat or dog, might take it in their mouth.  Don't take that chance....... Sad

ETA:  I'm not really sure but I think in that first link the dog owner mentioned he bought it in Dec of last yr so they've been out there for sale for a while now.
