Product Recalls: Trailer Bicycles
By The Associated Press – 12 hours ago

The following recalls have been announced:

_ About 7,000 InStep Pathfinder, Schwinn Run About and Mongoose Alley Cat trailer bicycles, manufactured in China by Pacific Cycle Inc., because the welds on the coupler connecting the trailer bike to the adult bike can fail. The company has received one report of welds failing in this manner, resulting in a fall. The trailer bikes were sold at bicycle stores around the country between January and August 2007. Details: by phone at 877-564-2261; by Web at http://www.instep.net, http://www.schwinnbikes.com, http://www.mongoose.com or http://www.cpsc.gov.

_ 744 cans of beans from New Era Canning Co. because the food might be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum, which causes botulism, a potentially fatal form of food poisoning. The New Era, Mich., company has received no reports of illnesses, according to spokeswoman Linda Miller. The recall includes 258 cans of GFS-brand Fancy Mexican Style Chili Beans, 342 Kitchen-brand Blue Lake Mixed Cuts Green Beans and 144 cans of Great Value-brand Dark Red Kidney Beans. The chili beans were distributed to businesses in Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin and sold through GFS Marketplace stores in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Michigan. The green beans were not sold in stores but were distributed to a Michigan restaurant. The kidney beans were sold at Wal-Mart Stores in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming. For more information, consumers can call the company at 800-282-9007, ext. 111.
