16  Other/Misc / Off Topic (No Politics) / Re: Government considers 85 billion bailout/socialization of insurance giant AIG on: September 26, 2008, 02:45:44 PM
IMHO I don't think we sgould bail any of these financial institutions out. I have little faith in the investigation that is being conducted by the F.B.I. Will we ever hear what the truth is or will we be kept in the dark?

They are asking for $700 billion to bail out the financial groups (many foreign owned) . The government o.k.'d  a $600 billion farm bill. With the acception of food stamps for needy, IMHO farm subsidies need to be stopped. The news recently stated that 3 major auto makers want $25 billion each to help them develop more economical autos. We the tax payer pay for the building of sports arenas. Let look at the number of millionaire football , baseball, basketball and etc. players Let them build their own arenas. WHAT Happens to free enterprize? Have we become a socialist country?

22  Other/Misc / Off Topic (No Politics) / Re: Historic Asylums and the Willard Suitcases Exhibit on: August 11, 2008, 06:27:41 PM
The Willard suit case exhibit tells a lot about the people. Years ago in new york state woman were sentenced to state hospitals also called state schools for being promiscuous (sp). Sadly many were  never returned to society. years later when these places started shutting down these ladies wound up living in group homes. Many would have married and led productive lifes , probably would have be the  grandmothers  of today if the state hadn't incarcerated them for what turned out to be a life sentence.

Some of the patients at Willard escaped by trying to navigate Seneca Lake in anything that would float.

Her money, her choice. I wonder what the chances are of these pups developing cancer as that is what I heard her original Bugger died of.

In my state dogs and cats are not considered livestock. This is very clear in the ag. & mkts. definitions. Farm bureau would like them called livestock so they would fall under the right to farm act . Their rationale: to offer further protection to puppy mill operators.

I have lost faith in all pet food companys. My states Ag. & Mkts tested my food , they notified FDA , they also notified the company who made the food and their states Ag& Mkts. They notified them because my food contained toxins.

I also learned today of a dog who recently died and was being fed Nutro. The boarding kennel owner , who owned the dog has since advised her clients to bring their own food , bring a list of all the ingredients, preferably the label. So if the dogs become ill in her care she can show the ingredient list, manufacture etc. to the vet if they need medical care.

So the web sites I posted are wrong? Ann Martin is wrong? People I am trying to help out . I still believe these agents are used in pet foods . Don has not presented anything to prove his theories.

Iwonder what adverse reactions occur when ca mixes with any of these or other chemicals? Lead, creosote, fuel oil, kerosene, citranella or carbolic acid?

Some good sights that talk about chemicals added for denaturing, rendering which IMHO could be hazardous!

http://www.holisticforpets.com/pdf/DoesYourDogFoodBark.pdf

http://www.Siriusdog.com/pet-food-industry-poisons-rendering.htm

Chemicals mentioned are carbolic acid, creosote, fuel oil, citronnella and kerosene. My concern is : Is there a reaction if these chemicals mix with ca or melamine?

Sirius dog uses term rendering in web listing!

Gee Don I guess I was including the denaturing process and chemicals already in the dead animals. One chemical I found is Birkolene b.

Also remember Ann Martin's book. Aren't chemicals added to this cooked mess of dead animals to make it palatable. I am not an expert just a concerned pet owner!!!
