I read something last night that stated solid gold was bought by another company and their standards went down. Someone even posted and said their vet used to carry solid gold but bc of the changes she doesnt recommend people feed it to their cats. you can find all this in the cat food review section in the thread about solid gold indigo moon. The thing with weruva is that people say the fish varieties have menadione. thats another no no. ive ordered all the new chicken and beef flavors from weruva and out of the on the cat wok and green eggs and chicken the cats enjoyed the green eggs and chicken. And, if you check out waggintails.com you can order just one can at a time. i did that with weruva, natures variety instinct, and merrick before grain. i got the order in 7 days. I also paid online. I know what your saying about having a pet die from crappy food. believe me i do not want that to happen. my last cat i had for 12 years died of blood parasites. she was an indoor kitty but i would let her go outside with me when i smoked a ciggy and i think thats how she got it. She wouldnt eat i had to sit in the bathroom with her and force feed her with baby food hoping she would lick up the broth to get something in her (she had anemia). im really mad at the vet cause the more i thought about it after i broke down in the vets office and just said put her to sleep he should have done an emergency IV and give her the medication that she wouldnt take from me (pills) i took her 3 times to the vet in one week one time to the emergency room because i was just so scared for her. i couldnt stand to see her suffer and i was so emotional about having to put her down i just walked out of the office in tears and i couldnt handle saying good bye. thats something i will always regret. so i guess if my cat died because some company instead of me not being able to save her i would hold a grudge and be picky too. sorry if i sounded cold hearted i was just getting so frustrated about what to feed these new cats i got. ive tried the most expensive foods i can find but they always like kibble with corn more and the merrick. so i dont know....sorry i went on a ramble i hope i made some sense. i dont even know what my point is.

im really sad to hear about this. merrick is one of the FAVORITE brands for my cats. Ive tried wellness but they wont even touch. i tried instinct and they like it but now i read some articles about natures variety. They LOVE nutro kitten formula dry but everyone here says dont feed nutro. seriously guys are there any brands of food you would feed your pet besides home cooked?? my cats dont eat home cooked like they eat the merrick. Are we all sure were not being overly paranoid and kinda critical when it comes to these pet food companies. i didnt have any pets during all the big recalls so i never dealt with sick cats etc but it seems to me like a lot of you guys are overly picky about each company. if you look for something wrong with each company something is bound to come up.
ps i get meows if i dont give them ocean breeze daily. they also love the new england boil and before grain chicken dry and canned. they will eat the thanksgiving dinner and surf and turf maybe twice a week but if i feed it too often no one eats it.
I did have a problem with newer ocean breezes being darker and not as much broth in the can. i emailed merrick and they said that they have started something different with the canning process but nothing has changed with the formula. they also mailed me a coupon for a free 24 case of 5.5 Oz cans. since they have taken the time to address my concerns and even send me free stuff in the mail i will continue to use merrick.

My cats are kibble and seafood addicts. all the things bad for them : ( im going to order a case of the few ive tried because i did see they picked at the beef. maybe they just need a proper introduction. i like the ingredients and everything about the instinct i just wish they would have liked it from the get go more.
the more i introduced this to them the more they eat. i have one cat who likes the lamb. the other 2 dont like it. 2 of them like the beef also. we finished that can. we also finished a rabbit can. the only flavor that didnt get touched was the chicken. : / ill try it again another time. I just ordered a case of lamb, beef, and rabbit. It seems like its only one of my girls who doesnt seem to be impressed by instincts.
