1  Pet Behavior and Health Questions / Memorials and Support / Re: Goodbye Ben on: October 09, 2008, 03:06:33 PM
Unfortunately it was a scheduled passing .. his behavior was getting very unpredictable .. He did give me a concussion( not deliberate on his part at all ) and he has had a few near misses with other people in a not friendly mode ... It was a matter of time before he really harmed someone and my new ( old back up ) vet said he would help me ... Cry Cry Cry Cry I loved him enough to want to ensure he never harmed a person or other animal  Kiss Kiss Ben

Roll Eyes Shocked this is opinion ONLY ... Cats are OBLIGATE carnivores , they have no actual need for for Carbs ( that is strait for the main vet book for cats and dogs ) ... in a wild environment they would get 3-5 % carbs from digested matter and some grazing ... I note no affco seal which with that protein level only would get a adult only seal and IMHO only a senior cat with major issues should eat that low of protein in a dry food... Roll Eyes

10  General Pet Information / Misc/Other Pet Discussions / Re: I have a new kitten/What to feed. on: September 13, 2008, 10:53:30 PM
Still loose stools.  I'm going to give the dry grain-free a try.  They were prescribed Flagyl (pills), but I'm concerned about the dosing amount since they've already been treated with the liquid.  Has anyone recently used Flagyl pills and could share the dosage amount?  These are 125 mg a day for 7 days.  Kittens are 4 and 5 pounds.

with Gigi who is a dog .. at 15 ish lbs she gets 250 mg in pill form 1/2  2 times a day

rc maybe the allergic reactions will clear up after stopping the feeding of this particular chicken. Do not know if this would help but since I stopped eating grains my joints do not hurt anymore so maybe its not really arthritis but a reaction to the grains in foods? Just a thought...

Peg I do believe you are right that it is one of the ones the Russians don't want.

I wont try to write it out.. I have a slight concussion and well things are not working right... but have you ever read up on the blood type diets the dr explains what your describing

MCH (Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin or Mean Corpuscular Volume (MCV) - This test helps diagnose the type of anemia.

MCH Too High: Rule out B12 deficiency, folate deficiency, ineffective production in the bone marrow, or recent blood loss with replacement by newer (and larger) reticulocytic cells from the bone marrow, and in vitro or in vivo hemolysis.

MCH Too Low: Rule out iron deficiency,

HUGE thank you ... as the vet left early for the weekend Wink....
